SheilaC Posted September 21, 2015 Share Posted September 21, 2015 The casting for La Bayadere at the Paris Opera Ballet has just been updated to include Kristina Shapran (Nikya) and Kimin Kim (Solor) for some performances of La Bayadere at the Bastille theatre in December. Maria Alexandrovna and Alexander Volchov in Raymonda 2008 Various Giselles including Alina Cojocaru Evan McKie in Onegin Roberto Bolle as Des Grieux in Manon just recently Svetlana Zakharova and David Hallberg in Sleeping Beauty last year. As he was not listed in the programme we believe he was a last minute replacement appearing in Lady of the Camellias with Agnes Le Testu (and still the performance I have shed most tears over - my friend and I were beyond the power of speech for at least an hour afterwards). Both Osipova and Vasiliev guested with POB ... both together and apart .. at different times in, I believe, Nutcracker ... Fille ... I was at first surprised at the number of NYCB dancers who had appeared with the POB (e.g., Mearns, Peck, Bouder, Hyltin, Whelan, etc.,) but then remembered that joint gala that held between POB and NYCB principals/company members at the Garnier. (http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/20/arts/dance/20ball.html) It was during that gala, of course, that a certain Mr. B Millepied made his POB debut as a replacement for an injured N. La Riche. Some might now be excused for thinking that prophetic. I agree with Sulcas' closing supposition: 'It would be fascinating to let the conversation continue.' I remember Nikolaï Tsiskaridze was dancing at Opéra de Paris several times: La Bayadere in 2001, Nutcracker in 2009/2010 and Sheherazade also in 2010. He was invited to dance in Clavigo in 2003.
