beckyl
I am just about to start intermediate foundation classes. I know it won't matter so much for class but for the exam I need either soft blocks (which I don't like very much) or "pink shoes with ribbons." I have a pair of ballet shoes (newish) that are "champagne" coloured (you can see them here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Satin-ballet-slippers-leather-champagne/dp/B00J8TVAJE) they are distinctly peach in real life. How strict is the RAD definition of "pink?" (I am happy to get new shoes if they won't work obviously!) Becky
balletqs
The colour is absolutely fine but they do frown upon split sole.
dancing pickles
They are fine. DD did her IF exam in split sole satin soft shoes in July
beckyl
Thank you he new syllabus says split sole shoes are "permitted" at least! I may just get new ones nearer the time but they will be OK for class at least!
SwaybackSapphire
Beckyl, my DD did hers in split sole and they were fine. Xx good luck!! If you want any advice from her, PM me and I'll put you in touch xx
Picturesinthefirelight
Dd did her IF in canvas split soles apart from the small pointe element. They didn't have ribbons on. She has to do her Inter in soft blocks.
balletqs
They can wear split sole it is just in the teaching notes that they are not encouraged but I know they cannot penalise anyone for wearing them.
taxi4ballet
When they say 'pink' I think they just mean that the other colours aren't permitted. Pink ballet shoes do seem to come in quite a lot of different pinks don't they?!

Thank you for the advice everyone
Picturesinthefirelight
It was last Easter. She did the new syllabus where you wear a skirt or tutu. It must have been OK as she got a distinction. Edited August 31, 2015 by Picturesinthefirelight

Thank you, like I said that's interesting, I will ask my dance teacher about this, I'd much rather wear my regular slippers
taxi4ballet
If you look on the RAD website the specification notes for Inter-Foundation and Intermediate shows the uniform requirements and which shoes may be worn at which level.
