My daughter did the RBS upper school summer school last year & they do hold an actual audition for anyone wishing to audition for upper school. So it's always worth yr dd having a second go. I'll check with my dd this eve to double check, but I'm sure one or two students got offered places. Has she got a place on the summer school though?

I also know of one girl who gave up her place on RB US summer school last week.

Afab. She was successful in being offered a place, but we are still waiting to hear about a Dada. Not looking good though as I know that some students have already been offered a Dada, so guess we are further down the list.

Afab. I would def wait til nxt year for your dd to audition. Girls need to be 16 to start the course, plus they have to live unsupervised in student hostels. My dd auditioned this yr - the audition is run on just one single day. It begins with a tour of the school & the opportunity to observe a couple of classes. This is followed by.a talk in the theatre by the Principal & chance to ask questions. Students then go off for their audition (which is a ballet class & jazz routine), followed by an interview & physio assessment. Hope this helps.

My dd is on waiting list too & literally tearing her hair out everyday with not knowing whether she is going in Sept or not. Can't even concentrate on anything else & is heartbroken to think she may not be able to continue with her ballet training. (I'm a single parent working on a low income & almost bankrupt trying to maintain the cost of her training over the past few years). I emailed the school on Mon to see if we could be given any indication of length of waiting list so we can be more realistic, but have not had a reply.

Jazz Paws. SA2s (year 11) are currently 2.45 - 5.00 and the SA1s (year 10) are before that ... I believe 12.15 - 2.30. The girls wear soft blocks and obviously pointe shoes. They can wear any make but they do insist upon them being spotlessly clean.

Dragonlady .... not everybody has been given waiting list. My daughter has waiting list, but we know of lots of girls who have been told no.

Hi Sasha, Don't give up, despite getting a waiting list for summer school, do still let your dd audition for MAs and WL next year. My daughter is currently an SA2. In the past she had applied for RBS summer schools several times and got a no. In 2011 she applied for summer school and auditioned for SA1s. We got a no letter for summer school, then in the same week received a letter offering her a place as an SA!!! So there you go..... She started as an SA1 and then the following summer got a place on the RBS Upper School summer school. So you must never give up. This year, however, we have been given Priority Waiting List.

At last .... the letters are finally out for Central. My DD has a waiting list. Still the anxious wait continues.

Dragonlady and HannahPerrin17 - know how you both feel, very anxious times in my house too! My daughter was in the 10am Sunday audition and we're still waiting to hear, as are many other of her friends from the Sunday. My daughter had a call back too. It seems to me that it's only the people from Saturday who have heard anything.

Does anyone out there know of anyone being granted a Dada for Tring 6th form dance course? My daughter has been told she is on the reserve list .... just wondering what the chances of this are? Don't know how many Dada places were actually given out this year and how many get put on the reserve list?

They gave everyone a list of hostels & flats at the Open Day. As you were not there, maybe you could ask for a copy when you attend the finals.
