  1. I was worried about this when my lad was auditioning as he had only done Grade 2...didn't prove to be a disadvantage for him. I asked at the time and was told that it was potential they were interested in and a high exam level did not mean the canddate had a better chance. So I wouldn't worry. My daughter is just at the start of grade 5. All being well, her grade 4 exam will be the last for 3 years when she will do Inter!
  2. Well done LB. What a lovely position to be in. xx
  3. Where u feel at home is important too I think. you'll do ur best where u feel happiest.
  4. Has anyone not from WL heard from ENB yet?
  5. I think WL kids get their offers before the others
  6. Oh that is such a long time to wait!!!! But thankfully it is nearly the holidays now. Fingers crossed for all out balletcoforum family!

Noone I know has heard anything yet.....can't be long now!!!
  8. I know that anyone doing associates from Tring is doing it without the Director of Dance's permission. The school feels strongly that the students do enough during the week and need time to rest and that there can be confusion in style. I know this because I asked for permission for my son to continue with his RBS associates class (mainly cos I'd paid for the year and he got an early scholarship and I wanted to get my money's worth LOL!) and I was given a very clear no. The RBS letter offering an associates place requires that a letter be sent from the vocational school principal giving permission. Tring has stated categirically they won't give permission, so anyone doing it has probably done it without the school's knowledge.

I don't know about physio for dada. It does have a bearing on the MDS audition. If they are considering you for funding they call you to physio but it could be different for dada.

Lots of luck to everyone waiting and thanks for the good wishes and the support. i feel like a weight has been lifted now they are all together in the one school. It was a seriously nerve-wracking few months. My older dd got her place from the waiting list and it was about 10 days till we got that letter. Never forget it...the mids offer came on the same day and I thought she would be pleased but she sobbed for 2 days. Lucky the place did come up and she hasn't looked back...and now the adventure begins for the littlest one Julie, I don't knw about a wing...but I think I should seriously get a job there!!!!

  15. Good luck to everyone at the Hammond funding final tomorrow.
  16. For those awaiting lower school results...I emailed and was told they are being sent first class tomorrow so Sat at the earliest!!
  17. Thanks for the advice all. We are going for rest and ice and elevation and plying it by ear. She is under close supervision of the school physio now. We have to look to the bigger picture.
  18. Question for any experts on injury: My daughter, never injury prone, has been diagnosed with an impinged achilles and told to dance pain free which means marking with no foot pointing, rises or pointe work. She has an ENBS final in 2 days, ballet cups at her school and the Phyllis Bedells next week. Unfortunate timing. I suppose the injury is due to the intense training at the mo'. How long is this injury likely to last and apart from rest and ice is there other treatment? Thanks.
  19. Still no news this end..though I leave before the post arrives.
  20. That's a pity. Wonder how they chose the cinemas. It's the first time they have done this so perhaps a pilot and future productions to be shown more widely?
  21. London Children's Ballet are screening last season's ballet 'Rumpelstiltskin' at selected Odeon around the country. If you didn't get the chance to see , it could be something to do with your dancers during the Easter hols. It's great to see dance getting out there into the community. Let's hope it is well attended. Here's the link: http://www.odeon.co.uk/fanatic/film_info/m13890/Rumpelstiltskin_London_Childen_s_Ballet/
  22. Thank heavens it is all drawing to a close...for this year anyway. Don't think my nerves could stand much more of this!!!
  23. Truly I will be glad when it is all over...whatever the outcome!!
