Maybe your DS is known to the school as an associate YD so they might look at other applicants first?

I promised myself not to go into analytics and drive myself even more insane. but here I am with the dumb question, how do you know the number of viewers that are not yourself? I was trying to look into the geographical location of views but that function is unavailable. xx

Yes you’re probably right. I doubt they will even look at the year 6 young dancers videos tbh... will save them time for sure.
I only know about views as made a mental note of how many times I’ve watched it 🤣🤣

Thank you! It’s ok, she’s 17 so a bit older. We’re international so it makes things a bit trickier! She was offered a spot last year but didn’t accept due to covid.

That’s such a shame . This pandemic has so much to answer for 😭

My DD isn’t a year 7 entry, but we’ve already heard back to say they can’t offer her anything. So they’re definitely on top of things and checking applications!

    Sorry to hear that 😞

What year was she applying for?  Did they suggest she try again next year?

That email is such fab news! I’m so pleased they are still planning for in person finals. Boys finals early March makes me suspect we might just hear a little earlier than end of Feb as two weeks isn’t an awful lot of time for those of us at the other end of the country to organise getting there, staying over etc whilst there are restrictions. But either way it’s great that they are being so organised and keeping us so well informed! x

Yes I think we will hear by end of this month given boys finals are early- mid March. They like to give at least a month preparation to students

They're hoping to get all results out by 1st March xx

That could also be down to the fa t that they are looking at year 6 young dancers in smaller groups this term so maybe getting a better idea of them than just the short video 🤷🏼‍♀️... I could be wrong of course x

  6. They won’t have watched just half from the beginning as it were... if they’ve watched say 6 mins of a 13 minute video it could mean they skipped through certain bits to see the parts they really need/ want to see.
outs was viewed back in November just after the “ original” closing date , before it got extended to January.

6 minutes was watched and I can see from the analytics that bits were skipped through etc .

That’s fab, thank you, it’s just with me sending it over the Christmas holidays she obviously hasn’t been in the school to be able to reply so I think I’ll give it a few days and then if I don’t hear I’ll drop another email and check it’s all working okay. Was the deadline the 11th of Jan? I just want to make sure it’s all okay by then! Haha x

The closing date for Elmhurst is the 8th January so I’d email again tomorrow to check she has received it xx

Hi guys, did anyone submit their Elmhurst video over the Christmas break via email? A friend has just applied for her son and said now the application form has a place for you to upload the video, but when I applied for my DS this wasn’t an option. I sent it via email and haven’t had any confirmation yet. I am sure the registrar is just super busy with it being her first day back, and I’ve checked my outbox to try and reassure myself I’ve sent it properly haha but I just thought I’d check if anybody else was in the same boat? x

We sent ours in December via email. The registrar replied the next day to say she had received it and it’s subsequently had one view for 4 secs to check the link is working too.

Im sure she will get back to you xx

Thanks for that. We followed the initial guidelines on the website, which did not state one/ both or otherwise. The subsequent more detailed advice was only put on the website after we had submitted, which I agree with you, says both sides (I have only just looked at it!). However, they surely can't disadvantage an applicant who submitted following their original guidelines? It's too late for us to do anything anyway!! 😬

I really wouldn’t worry about it... I am my DS Ballet teacher and we missed out something on the Elmhurst video 🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️... I really wouldn’t worry, they make their minds up very quickly xx
