Which week is she going? My 10 year old DD will be there week 2 đ
-
Just had an email saying theyâre aiming to get the results out in June x
-
My DD is year 5. We submitted via Google drive so Iâve no idea if theyâve viewed anything but it seems like the Mids are still waiting to hear and I canât imagine theyâll do JAs before them. From other forum posts, I think anyone who wasnât able to get to the WL finals were seen on zoom today, which means they can hopefully finalise the last few WL places, then Mids, then I guess theyâll move onto the JAs x

Itâs hard not to feel so incredibly disappointed for them. I think my daughter is a bit older than yours, but she still has so many years of loving dancing ahead of her so while I know sheâll be upset (I havenât told her yet, we already had anxiety about going back to school!), Iâm confident that this wonât ultimately be âthe endâ of wanting to pursue what is currently her dream. There are other associate programmes(I know Ballet Boost take them from 8 years old), people to meet, things to learn and years to grow. Everything they do adds to their experience and for your little one to do this at her age is absolutely incredible and she must have such determination and courage. You must be so proud of her. Sending lots of sympathy and luck for the next time for you!

We got a no, no specific corrections just a generic âvery difficult to choose, lots of beautiful dancers, try again in September when we have more places and you might have improved enough â. The lack of personal feedback tells me that sheâs probably not what theyâre looking for though! Congratulations to everyone that has a yes and I hope all the ânot yetsâ arenât discouraged and continue to try!

I canât imagine theyâll email now, theyâll have gone home if theyâre sensible! Iâm assuming itâll be Monday x
-
We havenât heard either and Iâm assuming the same - itâd be nice if they confirmed soon so weâve got the weekend to get through the fallout of rejection rather than a school night!

Same x

Is that for Tring? I think we applied at the beginning of February and the people whoâd applied then got the video requirements a couple of weeks later. The website says theyâll have dates for summer auditions soon though đ
-
It still says today on the website. Itâs funny because my DD did an online JA insight day in Feb and they were very clear that they wouldnât accept applications after 11am on the 23rd March. My only guess is that they realised their submission date was pretty close to the WL finals and results so maybe they wanted to keep them separate. I wonder how long itâll be until we hear - the Tring CBA submission deadline is today and theyâve said we should hear by the 15th April. But last summer it was about 6 weeks before we heard about JAs so Iâm trying not to think about it too much đ
-
We applied at the beginning of February and got the email with the video application details a couple of weeks later. I think this round is closed but Iâm sure thereâll be another set of auditions nearer the summer đ
-
Weâve applied on the suggestion of her dance teacher. If she hadnât I assume weâd have let her know we were planning on applying before submitting anything, it seems polite to do it that way x
-
Weâve just sent ours off with a video link to Google Drive - I think if I could see how many views etc Iâd drive myself nuts analysing it all!
-
I read that as not wearing a black leotard with a dark background (or equivalent with other colours!). If itâs going to bother you and you have time tomorrow Iâd be tempted to redo, but then send the video that you think shows your little one off best.

Is it really still potential? (Royal Ballet School 2021 intake)
MamaFrosty replied to Momapalooza's topic in Doing Dance
You absolutely havenât let him down - wait list is an incredible achievement and he should feel so proud of himself. And even if he hadnât made wait list, or finals even, youâve nurtured his love of dance which is the most important thing I think! As so many have said (on this post and others) vocational school at 11 isnât the only way to achieve a career in dance. I hope he gets over his disappointment soon - easier said than done I know! -
Is it really still potential? (Royal Ballet School 2021 intake)
MamaFrosty replied to Momapalooza's topic in Doing Dance
My DD (year 5) has recently asked for an Instagram account so she can follow other dancers who are as passionate as she is - among her peer group at dancing sheâs the only one who is keen to pursue additional classes like associates and intensives and wanted the chance to connect a bit with others. Itâs made me really aware of the opportunities that other dancers have had, especially over lockdown with online masterclasses etc! There does seem to be a high proportion of vocational successes among the dancers who have a large number of followers, are ambassadors etc but there must be many others who have a smaller online presence (or none at all!) so I remain hopeful that it does go on potential. -
Iâd guess that anyone who wants to apply has done so already, it seems like an odd decision to extend it today but theyâll have their reasons! Fingers crossed for everyone đ
-
Tring CBA takes them when theyâre 7/8 I think. They havenât announced their summer audition dates yet though. Elmhurst is from year 4 but they havenât announced their audition dates either yet. Southeast Ballet Scholars is from 8 years old and theyâre auditioning on the 18th April. We only filmed our video yesterday, our entire living room needed to be rearranged so we had space to film and I was putting it off đ hope it all goes well for your daughter today! x
-
Weâll be filming and submitting ours this coming weekend âşď¸

Sheâs not in her splits in any direction, hips are quite tight etc. so her froggy is far from flat. Sheâs working on it though - and yes itâs a process rather than a destination! But I see other dancers her age who are in oversplits etc and I think that it may immediately rule her out despite her musicality and obvious love of dance.
-
Ballet boost, southeast ballet scholars and royal ballet junior associates. She applied for RB junior associates last year and didnât get in and I wondered whether sheâd be put off by that but sheâs determined to keep trying! Sheâs not at all flexible though so I think that may go against her. Good luck to your daughter too!
-
Iâd guess that they want to see the kids do their best so I think Iâd either email them again and let them know what you think she can do - itâs the only associate application thatâs required my 10 year old to do an arabesque en lâair (from what Iâve seen it tends to be 11+ that are asked to do that) so I think itâs a standard list that went to everyone. Either that or film her doing her grade 2 set exercises and when you submit explain then that sheâs not covered much allegro etc in class but sheâs done her best. Weâre pretty new to all of this but I imagine they want to see a love of dance, musicality and potential rather than perfection.
-
What has she been asked to show? Weâve applied for my 10 year old and I think the only thing that is more challenging than we initially expected is the pirouette but I wouldnât expect a 7 year old to necessarily be able to do the other stuff thatâs required.

Weâre going to film next weekend, and then Iâm going to avoid obsessively checking my inbox for the next two months đ
