  1. Selling SCS d4 for a friend who has Covid. Face value £12. Please send me a DM if interested. All star cast of: Mariko Sasaki, Joseph Sissens, Thomas Whitehead, Marianna Tsembenhoi, Giacomo Rovero
  2. And yet the published advance casting of Lorenzo Trosello and Laurretta Summerscales took to the stage as planned last night and danced up a storm. Special mention too of Noam Durand in the Cossack dance. ( I was however less than impressed by the homemade sandwich munching, ENO bought popcorn crunching, drink slurping, freely-talking trio sitting in front of us.) FYI there is now a ‘cloakroom’ of sorts again at the Coliseum. It is on the ground floor tucked into the gap between the staircase from the lower ground floor and the staircase up to the first floor. Once a cubbyhole which sold coffee and programmes it is laughable. It was full to overflowing within 5 minutes of the doors opening. ( @LinMM)
  3. We saw this in Birmingham in June 2019 so, allowing for the delays and disruption in scheduling due to the pandemic, not that long ago. Perhaps a bit premature to say it has fallen out of the rep?
  4. Nicol Edmonds picks up Ben Ella’s Sugar Plum Prince shift so he now has two Fairies, Annette Buvoli & Yuhui Choe.
  5. is there a ballet of 'A Christmas Carol' ? if not, perhaps it's time for one? it has a happy ending. the magical stage production at the Old Vic now in it's 7th season never fails to fill everyone with joy and goodwill. we always leave with elevated spirits and feeling better than we went in.
  6. True it’s impossible to know what goes on and perhaps the 40th anniversary is the moment to pause it for a revamp or renewal And, we do know that Fille is planned not banned, just not confirmed when.
  7. In the introduction to the Daily Telegraph stream currently on YouTube, Nicol Edmonds says 2024 is the 40th anniversary of the iconic masterpiece that is the RB Nutcracker. In which case, it would seem strange not to stage it in celebration next Christmas.
  8. perhaps the possibility has improved with the appointment of Koen Kessels as Music Director of DNB later in 2024….
  9. My Christmas plans have changed so if anyone has a spare SCS ticket for 23/12 I would love it.
  10. i have found that it is possible to nap standing up. Both shows are short. You’ll still be out earlier than usual.
  11. which is a timely reminder that any information sought and received re advance casting is a double-edged sword as it can only be considered a guideline not a given. that said if my preferred dancers don’t make it on stage for the performance I have booked there will be disappointment.
  12. Last night Sarah & Ryo were what one used to describe as ‘a class act’. Cool, calm & refined. Meaghan GH & Giacomo Rovero were a delightfully engaging Clara/Hans-Peter couple. Mariko Sasaki & Francisco Serrano were seductive in the Arabian.
  13. tonight is Mariko Sasaki & Francisco Serrano. Are these debuts?
  14. Its definitely a bumper week at the ROH that kicks off tonight with a terrific combo of: Sarah Lamb, Ryoichi Hirano, Thomas Whitehead, Meaghan Grace Hinkis, Giacomo Rovero.
  15. March 29th is Good Friday so the ‘Tchaikovsky gala’ is at the start of a long weekend. No work the day after for many so a trip to Birmingham a possibility depending on Bank Holiday (yay!) trains….
  16. yesterday on the train home there was a very happy little boy in his twirly fairy dress complete with wings.
  17. What’s perhaps more exciting is that the 20th matinee will be Aiden O’Brien’s debut as Drosselmeyer.
