Is there a time when even the Rose Fairy escorts wore the blond wigs? Maybe we'll see the Prince go to sparkly own hair regardless of skin colour in a few years

I'd meant to comment, re the Wednesday performance, how particularly delighted Gary Avis had looked to be back on stage. Had he missed a lot of his scheduled Drosselmeyer performances prior to the cancellations, or was it just reaction to being back after 2 weeks of cancellations?
I'm not a veteran ballet goer but as Drosselmeyer he seems to be like that all the time, for his glittery red runs he does seem to jump up while doing them now...first time I saw evidence of him doing that was his second performance last year...he'd forgotten to do it at the performance I went to as they only did the first small red run not the full one. I have a list of his cancelled performances that I was due to see: 22/12 and 31/12. He was replaced once before cancellations for family reasons.

Full cast for tonight, Jan 5, now on ROH website:
https://www.roh.org.uk/events/80k3a
Edited to add that casts for the other performances this week are also on the website. They're, presumably, all subject to change:
Jan 6: https://www.roh.org.uk/events/0tk5b
Jan 7 https://www.roh.org.uk/events/c8rhm
Jan 8 matinée https://www.roh.org.uk/events/wqpea
Jan 8 evening https://www.roh.org.uk/events/bj2li
Can I ask how you find these particular cast lists on the ROH website? They don’t seem to have long life as none of the links work now though they did yesterday. Is it because we keep mocking the glaring errors? 😆 I wanted to check whether it was originally going to be Gina Storm Jensen as Rose Fairy tonight or another night as we have Leticia Dias tonight now according to the published on the day version -
Looks like further disruption for Raymonda....now the opening performance is 18th Jan and have seven performances....at least one date that was previously cancelled will now be available to book from noon tomorrow

Oh wow, I would really like to get one. Did they seem to have a reasonable number available?I'd say so as of 1925hrs last night, must've been around a couple of dozen perhaps...over in the book section

Overall I prefer the classic battle scene but one detail of the new one I love is the way the soldiers are leaning untidily in the fort but straighten up after the first gunfire and then of move towards the door with a lot of head wobbling 😆

I'll post it here for the benefit of anyone going to the remaining Nutcrackers but if like me you forgot to get a Dante Project programme at the time the shop has a supply signed by Edward Watson at £12

Yes, Romany has done a great job in Act 1, very pleased to see she finally got to do it 👏

Other debuts I consider 'main roles' appear to be Gina Storm Jensen as Rose Fairy and Romany Pajdak in the Arabian dance (?)....and following on from the other Nutcracker thread I assume the soprano Haegee Lee hasn't done the Russian dance before

There was the cast list that stated Giacomo Rovero was both Grandfather and Clara's partner in the same act
-
Will tomorrow be Romany Pajdak's Clara debut?
-
There are two versions of the DVD and both feature Lauren Cuthbertson for some reason...I presume the performance with Sarah Lamb won't be released but I wish it would

OMG, I can actually help you out as I was going to put my 15/1 SCS up for sale, I'm going to Takada's earlier performance instead now....it's D4 though if that helps

Mayara Magri has just posted that she’s expecting to be Sugar Plum Fairy on 5/1 after isolating for 10 days! She seems to be replacing Claire Calvert

Commiserations to RobS and all those who have to wait! I think it’s also pretty bad that both the Coliseum and ENB still haven’t mentioned the cancelled shows of 18, 19 and (matinees of) 14 and 20 Jan on their web pages. With IT being more sophisticated and accessible remotely (obviously) nowadays, it shouldn’t take ages after the theatre was informed to type a line or two in.
I'm not waiting, I've rebooked and will get a refund for the cancelled show later. Obviously not all may be in a position to but that's no different to the ROH
It's true that, unlike the ROH's approach, they are not currently acknowledging that there were other shows that are now cancelled. What you don't know about won't affect you and if it does affect you you've found out by another method

Just received the email about the cancellation of 18/1 performance☹️ Looks like we have to wait up to three days for the credit note to be able to book an alternative so that'll be something to do on Christmas Day

Is your message a general one about how you great you've always found them etc, is it wishing them luck for that performance or do you write as though you'd just seen the performance?
