I see that the casting for the secondary roles for tomorrow, Thursday & Saturday is up on the ROH website. How much it resembles who will actually be on stage when the time comes is another matter!
Very happy with tomorrow's so fingers crossed it remains the same....I've got a feeling I won't see much of the sword fighting!

She can't go to San Francisco Ballet, she's only just had a new kitchen!!!!!!😭😭😭😭

I thought something must have happened that I couldn't see or had missed as the orchestra got quieter and quieter as if they were stopping. Until they burst out again. An 'interesting' interpretation, for sure 🙂
It wasn't a one off either, he was the conductor for several performances that I saw/heard and the same thing happened at that point each time

I completely forgot!! Mr Bravo was in and he didn't shout BRAVO as Juliet was rolling on to her back dying.....so well done him 😄

While we wait for someone that went to give a report I will say I was particularly impressed by Marcelino Sambe's Mercutio, specifically his solo during the ball scene...like a whirlwind he was!! The post-ball slaps by Roseline and non-Roseline (Isabel Lubach) weren't loud enough for my liking 😆 but enjoyed their dancing very much. As always I enjoyed watching Ginevra Zambon trying to encourage the fighting and struggled to remain focussed on the main action when the harlots were fighting with people at the side of the stage.
I didn't originally plan to see Marianela, I'm so glad I got to see her do this due to a cast change.

It must be very difficult indeed for all concerned and I can imagine people tearing their hair out.
However, when things do get more normal, it would be fascinating to read inside accounts or even see a documentary, about what it was like and how things were managed, - and I wonder whether, by then, management or dancers might feel anything at all good came out of the experience (despite all the acknowledged serious negatives like loss of income) ? If only a lot of practice in being flexible, quick-thinking and spontaneous...
It would make a change to see a behind the scenes documentary series about the RB ….had enough of the endless series of Traffic Cops and the ones about my employer, Great Western Trains!- 3

Talking about things attached to hair, I'm not sure quite what happened, but at the matinee it rather looked as though perhaps the bow from one of the Rose Fairy cavaliers had dropped off. One minute it was on the floor, the next it had vanished, and I never did work out how - I'd have sworn I didn't spot any hands near it, or any feet kicking it away, so kudos to whoever it was who dispensed with it
That was Joseph Aumeer....it stayed there for a while and then he picked it up near the end of that section.
A show or two back a flower from the bunch held by Clara in Act 2 fell out landed on the floor and that was scooped up by William Bracewell.

I saw William Bracewell sitting at a table in the foyer for the whole of the matinee interval....only saw one gentleman come up and talk to him and the woman he was sat with

There were a lot of bouquets for the RB Clara and the Rose Fairy this afternoon, it must be said! (Wonder if anyone had been reading this thread?!)
It took two people to give Sophie her flowers😆- 1

Marcelino didn’t have the rectangular thing attached to the back of his hair this time, looked even better

🤔 I’ve just made it sound as though Kevin asked to join in, haven’t I!

Did Ryoichi Hirano play the Arabian dancer today? That sounds unusual!
Yes, Kevin O’Hare announced that he had asked to do it too- 5

Mr O’Hare came out again this afternoon to tell us parts of the scenery were now working after overnight repairs 👏 The tree was still fully grown but the step/ledge at the front of it was fully down so we had a fort (not that I could see it from SCS D8 and the dolls house…and the float thing was back. I may have missed it last night/since the beginning of time but today we had some uplifting lighting effect on the wall behind it for the tree growing section.
Great dancing from Sophie Allnatt and Mr Junker as well 👏

Changes for Act 2….angels in a foggy Kingdom of the Sweets instead of the usual foliage and none of the candle relay…also the Chinese dancers didn’t enter by the steps but from the sides even though Drosselmeyer did and the angel appeared at the top of them at the end

As always very impressed with the Royal Ballet’s ingenuity. I do hope the technical problems are sorted for tomorrow’s double Nutcracker and the magic sleigh makes both performances.
I miss the fort more than the sleigh but I assume the full stage width step that couldn’t lower was what stopped the fort and house being moved in, I assume it can’t fit in a more forward position in the wings in time. -
🎄A TREEmendous Act 1 tonight! 🎄
Mr O’Hare once again came out to tell us of a cast change, Matthew Ball being the Prince….but also that an hour before curtain up they had a major electrical problem and so some scenery won’t work but Gary Avis has had a think and the show will go on!….turns out it wasn’t the old guy’s candleholder that was knackered but the tree started the party fully grown! Everything was styled out rather well, they didn’t bother putting the angel on the tree etc and the tree growing section was just padded out with moving around….but then there was no fort or dolls house. And though the tree did disappear when it was supposed to a step remained so there was no electric float thing, they walked off at the end as they sometimes do any way

I've just remembered....last night Clara had to break her own Nutcracker as the boy that dropped it on the floor did so in a way that it didn't end up in two pieces😄

And I would actually have preferred Anna Rose with her own hair as well, not least because the wig added at least 30mm to her height and that was not helpful in relation to her partner.
I think the wig suits Anna Rose very well. the only thing is the mesh underneath it is very noticeable on her forehead in the photos

No, I just know I'll be watching Yuhui interacting with the rest of the cast the way the harlots do.
