    I didn't see it in our JA visit, they looked like any other ballet kids ... Similar because of the bun, being thin, having the same training perhaps, but same in any selective ballet school. I didn't see any particular similarities but if there is a look that we all are said they are after I prefere not to think about it too much. And I don't think the panel would ever give an honest feedback like, sorry child face is not Royal face ... so no way to know if get a no if it was a face

    I get what you mean there is a look we might perceive as Royal ...but any child that gets in this year right a way too becomes the one with RBS face so we just have to see what are those this year... it is all very subjective and any talent, physique, the mentioned sparkle, face that a child has will be by definition Royal once a child is in. I don't believe there is any child who is perfect in any possible way, they are all human... so I think panel always look at the entire package to decide If a child doesn't get a place it doesn't mean doesn't have it ... hope make sense ...

    Audition is not an indication of whom they will take in any particular time ???? it was a huge final of year 7, and we really don't know.... they might do something different ????

    Thank you Balletjack, it is precious to learn something from the people who had DC in WL! You have a very talented girl to get a yes!

    I think some could also have amazing technique AND sparkle! We can't guess what the panel thinks and the results really, we only know half the picture and it is what our DD did or felt ...but our DD is not a panel maybe what would appear as amazing technique might not look like that to the panel the panel are highly professional and our girls are not ....and the opposite what our girls maybe might thing went wrong the panel could spot the potential ...also they might not like particular sparkle all a guess game on our part !!! And as we know they have a mix of technique in year seven usually and I would assume a mix of different sparkle so I think while we all know most of the girls will get a no, all the girls who went to finals are still potential yeses .... hope we get results soon!!!

    In my opinion Ballet is an art form, subjective and not fair in nature...it is a long and unpredictable journey, and at no point ballet is based on "fairness". Art is an art ... First of all some genes win! Then some have better teachers and more resources. Then there is nothing fair in being born the way RBS likes you! No amount of hard work can change some things...So there is a luck involved...some will start earlier and some will never make it at all. DC depends on what the W is after this year and a panel...later some will assessed out and some will never be soloists even if very deserving... and a director will pick somebody else who I maybe would think is less deserving or talented and is much younger ! Some will never even make it to the company ... it is just that... very subjective ... I honestly don't mind anyone else who makes it earlier. I just hope my own child will get a yes and be successful... if she makes it she will be one of the oldest in class to begin with... Some very talented DC born into circumstances that they parents never even send them to ballet and then it is too late to start...so very fortunate to try for year seven at all... I don't mind there will be a five year old next to her if she gets in and if she gets a no I don't mind who gets a yes and what year they are and how amazing or not ...

    As far as my DD concerned she is flexible: they can place her in her academic year, above or below whatever suits ????

    I think in some exceptional cases dc who were spotted by RBS might be invited and it is for sure not unheard of for some dc to be in a class above ... DC is just like yours and we went through normal application process and had to wait for her year 6 to apply... Not a special case indeed ????

    I think the yes is a yes it doesn't matter if they took a second look in recall... also some will be on waiting list and if they join eventually they are equal to those who got a yes right away ... bottom line is important I think... some who were not recalled and maybe get a yes can be assessed later and some who would be recalled and get a yes will be brilliant at WL ... so a yes is a yes ... doesn't matter recalled or not really!... maybe the child didn't show his full potential and the panel were really great to give a child a second chance to shine really in recall...

    Hi, from all I gather from reading old chats about it the recall is then they are not sure ... then they sure it is a yes or sure it is no- no recall... it is a maybe who get recalled ...Just from reading in this forum old chats... nothing first hand!

    Hi, I'm pretty sure this year at least (we are new) finals are in White Lodge for all the chidlren who got yes for finals and regardless of where they attended the preliminary ones and that includes London... so no difference really... Maybe there are some unique special cases I'm not aware of ... (don't know about the international auditions though ... )

    JolieW, thank you for the insight! So happy the topic is back!!! The recall "yes" does feel and statistically actually is most likely just a delayed "no" indeed ????! Good luck to all!!!
