I can’t speak for CAT scheme as we didn’t do it as not one close to us! but if we had our time again we wouldn’t go to vocational school!
Our happiest time was when we did RBS JA’s, we still look back fondly on those times! It was what came after that nearly broke our dd and it was only finding a college at 16+ (not even one of the so called top 4!) that put our dd back together again and gave her back her love of ballet that she had in JA’s.
So my advice would be find an amazing teacher, stick with JA’s, MA’s SA’s (if you can) and keep your daughter at home🥰🩰🥰

I would fully recommend KS over vocational training for younger students ❤️Wish we’d have done it instead of spending 5 years of hell at vocational schools 🤣
KS has new studios now in town! Give them a ring and speak to them. Not sure if their younger classes use them, but College students do.
Also, KS is only 1 bus ride from station so not too bad to get to. I can ask dd what no. if interested 😁 -

See my post above! Clearly different experiences of KS!
Well she must have mellowed then, we have nothing but praise for KS. She put our dd back together again after being at one of the schools mentioned on Monday 🥹

I would second KS in Warrington! If we had our time again that’s definitely what we would have done 🥹

It's crucial that we address the issue of these prestigious ballet schools receiving substantial government funding, including through the MDS scheme and Department for Education grants. This funding is intended to elevate the standard of ballet education in the UK for British students.
A ballet school, especially one receiving substantial government funding and given charity status, should prioritise the development and well-being of its own aspiring British talent, rather than inadvertently harming it.
If there are allegations of practices within these schools that may harm the prospects of British talent, such as body shaming and bullying, it's imperative that these concerns are thoroughly investigated. It's not about assigning blame prematurely, but rather about holding these institutions accountable for their actions and ensuring they uphold their responsibilities.
It's disheartening to see these allegations suggesting that instead of nurturing local talent, some schools may resort to favouring talent from outside the UK to replace what they couldn't foster, which raises serious questions about the purpose and responsibility of these institutions
The schools should take these allegations seriously and engage in a transparent dialogue to address these issues and maintain the integrity of the support they receive from taxpayers.👍👏🥹

I can totally agree with the above about the Hammond! Dd moved to Hammond for yrs 10 & 11 and quickly found that it was a much happier school than where she had been!

When Dd was at Elmhurst yr7, they used JA’s for BRB as all yr 7’s were too tall 🤣

Hiya
We did the Insight day when dd was in yr3, july baby so would have just turned 7 when we did it in the October! And our words to dd were just enjoy the day, if nothing comes if it it will have been a nice day out! And that’s what we’ve said at every stage of our journey. It was a lovely class, nothing in it she couldn’t do, and yes we had a lovely day out.
Going into yr6, then I’m thinking it’s an insight day for Mid Associates, maybe slightly more advanced but I’m sure there won’t be anything your dd won’t have done before. Just go and let your dd have fun in an amazing studio, and, if nothing comes of it, it was a nice experience to look back on. Our JA days were our happiest days in our journey that we look back on fondly.Enjoy 🥰

Don’t know where you are but highly recommend Kate Frost in Birmingham, would definitely get booked as soon as you can as it takes a few weeks to get photos back too 🫣

Unfortunately I think your too late for associates at Royal/Elmhurst for this year, auditions are earlier in the year for September start.
I don’t know if there are any associates that are aimed at MT, hopefully someone else will come back.
Good luck
