  1. Does anyone know a girl aged 10 called Darcey doing this? We met her at Barnsly comps. She is an Elmhurst associate but the email address her mum gave us didn't work??
  2. Lol just reread another thread and it is your daughter doing inter exam. They must have a separate new year 6 class as they would be such different standards (I know your daughter is London). There must be girls going into year 6 who have done year 4 and 5 too so would be much further on??
  3. Cool is that in Covent garden? We are going to do the 2 day course for yr 6's there so might see you! Do you know how the classes work with new JA's and ones who have done it before as my daughter is new to JA's as a yer 6 and has only done her Grade 1 IDTA so will definitely less advanced than a lot of other pupils. Someone wa mentioning their 11 year old JA doing intermediate exam so it would be odd if they were in the same JA class.
  4. Where does your daughter go Balletjack
  5. I had heard that its cheaper to stay in France and get the Eurostar in for the Olympics than stay in London so the French must be laughing! Typical!
  6. Thanks Spooky! I am a good sewer so I'm sure I could take it in a little!
  7. Hers is worst under her arm pits! But I didn't want to get one that was a bit tight especially with it being white! Thanks!
  8. And she's tried it on again and it's just baggy on her body. Length not too bad. I've sewn her name in it. She'll only grow!
  9. Yes just tried Eloise's on and it is quite big on her but I think the 6-8 would be too small. Does anyone know if you are ok to take the shoulders in?
  10. Leotard came today and it's lined at the front (whole front) but not at the back. It was the see through shot of the bottom on the website that made me think about underwear in the first place. She's yet to try it on yet as at dancing. I got aged 9-11 size 2 but she is a very small aged 10 so hope it fits!

  12. Well I'm glad I got some. Cheap too so would recommend primark 8-10 ladies even of very small! My 10 year old is tiny and they fitted.
  13. My daughter starts year 6 JA in sept and we went to Primark and bought a pack of invisible seamed thongs 3 for a fiver. Either all skin colour or 2 white and a skin colour. We bought ladies 8-10 and she wore one to dance class yesterday! Bless her! She is so tiny (in 8-9 clothes but age 10 1/2) but the fitted - hardly stretched at all! Glad to hear that the leotard is line (waiting for it to arrive!) so she might wear it with no pants (and use the thongs for festivals or dance class at home as they will fit until she is bigger than a 10!). In the car yesterday after wearing them half an hour she commented that she couldn't even feel that she had them on!
  14. Hi Anyone starting in sept for RBS JA in Leeds? Year 6. We are travelling from Sheffield. Just wondered if anyone else was going from Sheffield too? Zoe
  15. Balletjack, is she starting yr 6 in Leeds?
  16. I was advised that they couldn't miss for festivals when we auditioned at Leeds so her home teacher has been teaching her festival troupe parts to back up girls incase it clashes. And the two day intensive- is there no point in going if not wanting to audition for vocational schools? Any idea of costs? And would it be helpful for MA auditions?
  17. Just seen you don't want the pink and purple version but I'm sure you could knit it a tabby colour! If you can knit and have the time (she says who sat knitting through her last lakes holiday in the evenings!) x
  18. My daughter is the Cheshire cat in an Alice in wonderland troupe and is 8. She requires a quick change into a playing card so I made a pair of purple and pink striped legwarmers and arm warmers (knitted) a tail safety pinned to a pink leotard and knitted pink and purple ears that I sewed onto a purple headband. I can send you a pic if you message me your email. It's very obvious what she is!!
  19. Our info also said about them being invited to a two day intensive workshop on the mon tues of that half term at covent garden (is that just year 6's?). I was going to book a hOl for that half term but held off until these dates. I am sure if you explained you had a holiday already booked they would understand? (or maybe not!)
  20. Reading this is so funny!! Loving the image of them lining up on their knees. I, thank goodness, can sew and have done a whole troupe of Annie dresses for a competition. I am concerned though as I have a very tiny 10 yr old (in size 7-8 clothes) who I am sure when I make this skirt in the summer will have a growth spurt. It does say you make a 6 cm seam allowance so it can be turned down but it's not a quick job! Anyone near Sheffield wants to get together to make them I can help! Zoe
  21. Oopps sorry for my mix up! It was explained to me that they only take children they see potential in so it's not neccessarily that they have a set number of years 4,5 and 6's. If they see 10 year 4's with potential they might take them and only one or two year 6's. It's not set in stone. I asked when we went to JA for a day in London as I thought there would be no point in my eldest auditioning for a year 6 places thinking that all the spaces would be filled by the current year 5's but it didn't work like that. Anyway, it can't have done as she has been offered a year 6 place so there we go!!! Now to get a year 5 place next year for her disappointed year 4 sister!!
  22. Spanner and Pony, Is your son doing a year 5 or 6 place at Leeds? My daughter Eloise has got a year 6 place there! Zoe
  23. It's a mixed result for us - yes for Eloise (year 6) who had a CAT scheme call back for northern ballet(which we rejected) and a no for Gabriella (yr 4) who we were convinced would have a place!!
  24. Hi Happymum My two daughters (8 and 10) are auditioning for Rbs associates for the first time this year. We went to JA for a day in London and from what we were led to believe the audition would be quite similar to the class they did. My daughters are auditioning in Leeds on 2nd May. My eldest auditioned for Northern Ballet Associates and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was just fun classes really so I hope the RBS ones will be just as enjoyable. Good luck!
