I just noticed and am very happy about the wonderful Jonathan Lo returning to "lead the band" for Cinderella until Christmas

There's always the option of a book in the Floral Hall (or having a chat with me there, during it)
I've already been lining up my reading material and conversation topics with you, @zxDaveM
And this time round Prodigal Son won't even have the incentive for me to see Claire Calvert and Alexander Campbell finally paired up (other than Mistress/Lescaut, Lilac Fairy/Prince of course)

On the subject of soloists, I was looking through the cast lists for Swan Lake and I didn't notice Calvin Richardson. Is he away or did I miss something?
possibly focusing on his debut as Polixenes in The Winter's Tale (first night's cast)

It is indeed a great shot and the costume is a triumph of design and manufacture. However the makeup around the mouth looks as though Rothbart is around 105 and forgot his dentures.
Rothbart
German and Jewish (Ashkenazic): nickname for someone with a red beard, from Middle High German rōt ‘red’ + bart ‘beard’, German ...
A red beard signalled the baddie, see also Giselle?
Thanks @Roberta
Also, a “von” in front of a last name in German used to in (the olden days) signify a kind of nobility (landed gentry?): “von” meaning of or from. So our SL baddie is likely from a place called Rothbart

@Silke H I love your photo of Rothbart. He looks so creepy and effective in it. You forget when you see it at a distance quite how scary he looks. That's a great shot!
Thank you @Tango Dancer
Gary loves it too and has used it in his latest post. ☺️

BEST CLASSICAL CHOREOGRAPHY
..........Wayne McGregor for Untitled, 2023 for The Royal Ballet......
😂
Exactly. I’m bewildered that McGregor is regarded as classical. 🤯 Because the ladies dance in pointe shoes?

Balanchine - Jewels and / or Symphony in C. Would also like Ballo Della Regina / Theme and Variations
Ashton - Symphonic Variations / Birthday Offering (surely they have the talent to perform this by now) / Patineurs
I agree with these wishes, I think I had mentioned those in a different ballet wishes thread 🙂
Funnily enough I was just messaging back and forth this morning with a friend about Birthday Offering. The last time I saw it was in 2012, still with Tamara Rojo, Roberta Marquez, Johannes Stepanek, Ricardo Cervera (to name but a few former RB dancers)

I'm curious about Queen of Hearts casting - really loved Laura Morera and Zenaida Yanowsky in the recordings, not sure who else has done it?
I believe Claire Calvert and Tierney Heap also danced Queen of Hearts in 2017
