  1. I too thought it odd that the printed cast sheet showed the correct Clara and Peter but not the website.Left hand and right hand perhaps.

Back to this thread. Tonight we entered through the revolving doors on the piazza, no one there to check bags or tickets but walking through into the Bow Street entrance tickets had to be shown and bags checked, perhaps security have not copped on to the idea that a bomb carrier will simply go round the corner to the piazza.

That  canteen they have now created is the worst thing they have done.

This reply still doesn’t address the issue.  The article wasn’t about reducing the number of regulars attending performances.  It was about reducing the number of performances attended by each individual regular.

My question was why the ROH want me to cut back on the number of times I attend in favour of all these young people who cannot get a ticket. The fact that the answer addressed a different question was not a surprise. Like politicians they answer the question they want to be asked not the question asked.

Sorry, just catching up, but has anybody seen anything from ROH that seems to resolve all this or shut it down?

From what I can see nobody from ROH seems to have said that the statements made by their Director of Media and Audiences (in the artsprofessional piece) are wrong. The piece itself remains up which presumably means ROH agree with it.

    Here is one, Bruce.

    "

Thank you for your email. I have advised Lucy of your comments and she has asked me to respond on her behalf.

Please be assured that we have no intention of deliberately reducing the number of Friends attending performances at the Royal Opera House and did not mean that.

The piece written by Arts Professional intended to describe more generally the Royal Opera House's intention to broaden its audience in the long-term, and we deeply apologise if the wrong impression was given in the article to Friends about our pricing policy.

    Best regards,

  4. Have to agree with you Serenade, Leaves are Falling/ Valse Trieste we’re excellent showing  great dancing and partnering with Natalia and Hallberg. “Six years later” was embarrassing to watch Natalia playing shoulder bumps for about 10 minutes ( or so it seemed ) total waste and then both dancers trembling in some sort of orgasmic passion was laughable. “Flutter” was ruined by the music, if that’s what it was, Mr. Muhly must have seen the McGregor at the RB ( Multiverse and please god I never have to sit through that again).

One lovely incident at the curtain calls, Natalia must have thought they were over as when the lights came on again there she was sitting on the stage. The boys started laughing which she joined in with.

    well done Natalia.

Lin this seems to apply to all Insights in the Clore at the moment. The red "Buy" button indicates that tickets are available; "Select an area"  then shows as "sold out" against the two options of Clore and Wheelchair spaces,  but you can click on "best seats available"  and let them choose. That must be a problem for wheelchair users, unless it can be sorted over the 'phone.

I don't know if this is all to do with the refurbishment  and the new seating in  the Clore studio;  how did things work for booking seats in the  Clore before, anyone - could you choose a specific seat?

Yes, you could. Similar to the auditorium.

The site is in a pickle just now. Look at “Two Pigeons” using the What’s On link and It shows the performances with Asphodel Meadows but there is no mention of it being danced with the RBS performance, you have to go to the Winter Season to find it and where is the casting? That’s somewhere else, complete mess.

To find casting select winter 2018/19 - then calendar of events and you get both opera and ballet with casting.

They almost always sell out immediately (particularly the ones with performance content) and even as a Supporting Friend I rarely manage to get the ones I want on my priority booking day.  However, I have found that there are a substantial number held back by the house for whatever reasons, and with a little persistence I always manage to get something eventually, usually a lot nearer the date of the event.

I believe they have to keep a percentage available to the general public of every performance to maintain their lottery funding.
