And for tomorrow afternoon's Welcome performance, Federico Bonelli is replaced by William Bracewell.  OMG Fumi and Bracewell...just the thought of that pairing makes me feel like I have died and gone to ballet heaven.

Bonelli's name has also gone from the Ukrainian gala poster.

I think his name for the Fumi performance was removed after his appointment to Northern Ballet so could be that is why.

  2. I too felt a bit underwhelmed tonight, maybe waiting a couple of years had built my expectation unfairly high. Her White swan was utterly beautiful particularly her response to Siegfried’s pleading in Act 4 was very powerful. It was the Black swan pdd which usually gets me pretty fired up but tonight left me flat, her fouettés just didn’t happen for me.  Having said all that it was very well received, the swans are totally wonderful, William partnered her beautifully, and all the various dance routines were really good. Would not have missed this for the world.

Is anyone else trying to book and getting nowhere with the payment process?

Rather fed up.Failed to get tickets. Screen froze TWICE when it said it was authorising my payments. I actually went to bed during the second attempt and it was still doing it when I got up.  Let’s hope they do stream it; more money for those needy people of the Ukraine.

FYI I enquired about the free programme.

I was told it starts from when Peter Grimes starts but it is redeemable for any show after that (including Swan Lake). It doesn’t make sense to me as then it’s not linked to a booking period but rather a particular date but I guess it’s free so can’t complain!

Well I got my free programme for a R&J performance weeks ago.  Someone has got this wrong

SPD444—- I saw Corrales as Albrecht in Giselle which I think should fit your ‘white tight Romantic lead’ and I thought he was very good especially as was a debut in that role. So I’ve every reason to believe he will be good as the Prince in Swan Lake. Not everyone was impressed with him but I was!!    I also like his partnership with Magri so am hoping for great things from them both. But as you say we shall see.

I saw him more at ENB where he did the pirate/matador style roles and more recently the Akram Giselle when again he was not the Lead. I found his Romeo with Frankie a tad lacking in real emotion, compared to her with Bracewell. Mayara’s recent R&J with Calvin will take some beating as well.  All these brilliant new principals at the RB is so wonderful, we are so spoilt for choice.

Not sure if I'm missing something here, but if you mean the general rehearsal it doesn't count as (and definitely isn't) their debut. The debut is the first public performance - rehearsals don't count!

Bridiem is right, they have been rehearsing for weeks and tomorrow is a continuation of those. With a play they have numerous previews but there is always a “first night” which is recognised as such.

  7.  Having started this topic back in October, it seems the whole delay is my fault. Here is the first sentence of the email I received today from the ROH, this is a direct copy and paste:-

"In October we contacted you to let you know that we had postponed our stream of The Dante Project because you had pre-ordered it."

Please accept my apologies for pre-ordering it, I should have waited. There is no excuse.

To whet your appetite (showing both Matthew Ball (who I am seeing next week) and Vadim Muntagirov) in rehearsal for Apollo)

Incidentally I saw Matthew Ball in class on the main stage on Wednesday - very impressive - as indeed it must be said were all the dancers.  Class was taken by Sian Murphy who was lovely and very amusing.

Was one of the boys taking class on Wednesday Harrison Lee do you know. I think he has been injured ro some time now. Hard to tell wearingmasks.

I’m really sad to hear this as she is one of my favourites and glows onstage. What a loss to the ballet world! But I wish her every success in her new path, such an intelligent woman will be an asset to Stanford - not sure if they realise what lunacy is about to hit them, though! 😂

I am a huge fan of her Instagram page, she is completely daft ( in a lovely way ) and will miss her "green beanie" very much. God Bless Beau, stay safe and be happy.

Yes, I did. I have checked what tickets I bought in the “Events” section of my membership file if they are their and they are so all seems well but to make sure I copied the error message to the box office and asked them to confirm. No reply so far.

Now Friday and I received the confirmation email today with a subsequent email giving apology. All is well.

I got an error message in the email which was entitled ‘booking confirmation’ when I made my booking. Has this happened to anyone else?

Out of interest, do you know any other cultural venue that has done this?  I don't think I do (certainly not Sadler's Wells, the Southbank Centre, Wigmore Hall, Glyndebourne, Opera Holland Park, Birmingham Rep).  I know some venues (commercial theatre) that have had all seats available to purchase and, when one or more seats are purchased, the logarithms in their booking system remove seats from sale to allow for physical distancing.

Like everyone else, I am hoping that we will be back to normal come September and this will no longer be an issue at the ROH (and we can concentrate on those annoying places that won't let you book one or more seats if it will leave a single seat).

Will we have to wait until September for it to be back to normal.  I have been chasing my tail looking at the ticket situation regarding the Royal Ballet School performances and whilst we are currently in social distancing in theatres surely come June 21st all that will go away so theatre's can sell all seats.  The matinee performance is on the 10th July so why can't they sell all the seats after June 21st.
