  3. My dd did not do pre primary exam and that would have been 7-8 yrs ago
  4. Thank you. She is 13 in yr 8 In school so I think the final year of mids which I'm guessing may be the hardest
  5. We are waiting for london, she has been on short waiting list twice previously so is also realistic, we shall see I'm sure as always it will work out how its meant to.
  6. Seems liki so long ago my dd just did her grade 6 today. When she did her primary her teachers said she would be fine as they only put them in when they know syllabus and they told the children to have fun and smile, a smile can go a long way. Hope she enjoys the day, let us all know how it goes.
  7. Hi, eloise_please, We still waiting for mids too although asked similar question earlier in this thread and got no answer so I called them, they said our letters will come out either this week or next so not long now. My dilemma is she does her intermediate exam Friday if it comes this week do I give it to her as she has aleady said she would be sad if a no and I would hate for it to affect her exam.
  8. Hi, I have a question, for all the dd's that have a no but also ticked for mids will they have to wait til results for mids come out or do they get told in their letter? Just thought on a positive note it may not be over for you yet. I phoned yesterday as my dd waiting for mid results and the man said next week or the week after so not long now. She has her grade 6 and intermediate exam over the next 7 days so plenty to keep her mind off the postman.
  9. Congratulations to all the yes what an amzing time you will have. Still got a bit of a wait as my dd only auditioned for mids but love hearing all the news
  10. Can I ask anjuli_bai you say very few come through rad why is that and what method is preferred as my dd does rad and does well but I have been thinking she should do something different to broaden her knowledge.
  11. My dd has applied for rbs summer school and also enbs although not residential. Can i ask as i couldn't see a date for when you hear from rbs when do you get a letter to say if they are in or not?
  12. Hi sorry advanced foundation, yes i am interested let me know what you would like for it.
  13. HI, My dd's feet have had a growth spurt just wondered if anyone had size 6 character shoes (low heel) Also i know this is not ballet but i am after oxford tap shoes size 5 and 7 .
  14. Hi, I actually have both as my dd is doing exams in March. She is doing both exams 10th and 15th March but would be happy to post them out after. If you are interested let me know.
  15. HI, Still looking for these two dvd if anyone has a copy.
  16. Hi, She has always had medium from her first pair and she breaks them in quite quickly, she has one hard pair as i had to buy two pairs when she was lead in a ballet at her school which she never used so she is in them now so i don't have to buy another pair and she is taking longer to break them in. The problem with the freeds, my other dd had a pair and she found they hurt around the toe when on pointe she is now also in grishko, but everyone is different my dd the one i was originally was talking about tried a pair of freed and didn't like them she said they felt uncomfortable. Everyone is different what is good for one is not for another. Thankfully there is a lot of good makes out there to try.
  17. Hi, My dd has a very high arch atrong feet and slightly narrow after going to London and trying on many she liked the grishko 2007 and i have to say after her third pair she loves them, because of her high arch she has a medium shank and they mould nicely to her feet. I have not had to blowdry them she seems to break them in quickly. I have to say all the girls at the dance school that have bought freeds have had trouble with them and slowly all changed there shoes. Is there a shop you can go to to try on a few different makes.
  18. I will try the sleeping in them first over the weekend. Thank you. 2dancers mum orry meant to answer you in last post. She dances all week because of the days her grades fall on as she is also doing her grade 6 exam but the intermediate three times a week up to exam.
  19. Hi, Thank you for the reples and my dd has grishkos as her pointe shoes are the same make and she has always liked them. wondering whether i should have come on here before buying them. Are all soft blocks this hard or are some other makes softer? Anyway kettle boiling and hammer in hand (can't believe i'm about to take a hammer to a £40 pair of shoes) Do i hammer the top, bottom or both bits?
  20. Hi all, My dd is doing her intermediate exam in march and was told last week she needed soft blocks which I bought. Now everyone is saying I need to soften them so they are softer for exam. While a tad annoyed as I would have got them at christmas so she had time to soften and get used to them I need to help her. thank you in advance to anyone that answers
  21. i echo what everyone has been saying massive congratulations to all who have got to finals and to any no's i am a firm believer in everything happens for a reason even if its not clear what that is at the time. Eloise-please out of interest when did you audition, my dd has only auditioned for mids so like you has a longer wait just wondered if you were at same time as her.
  22. Can I ask when you think the letters for mids come out. My dd was told march but anyone know which end.
  23. HI, sorry not been on here for a while, thanks for all your replies, she is stretching everyday and her teacher is being very supportive and giving her some extra lessons. She has also just been put in for grade 6 and intermediate exams so will be dancing right up to audition. Just an hour each night. She will either be great for all the practise or the one sleeping in the corner LOL.I suppose as she will be busy after the audition getting ready for the exams she won't be watching for the post, March is definately going to be a busy month. Good luck to all who are auditioning and may see some of you there. If anyone is going to London auditions pm me it would be nice to put a face to some of the names. I wish everyone a merry christmas and a wonderful new year
