  1. My DD also got her letter this morning, she will be 12 by the time she goes. She went last year for a week and absolutely loved every minute of it and learnt alot too. She didn't know anybody when she went, but has kept in touch with a couple of girls she met and is hoping to catch up with them again. She is going for both weeks this year. I too might have a few days in Yorkshire with another of my daughters!
  2. I have a hard enough time getting my daughter to throw out her worn out flats as she always attaches some significance to them. She's only been on pointe for a few months and the day she was fitted she said "I feel like I've been waiting for this day my whole life", so I can't imagine that she'd ever throw away her first pair of pointe shoes!
  3. Well done to all those that got yes letters. Was just wondering after reading the JA thread, are there two types of 'no' letters for MAs - a straight forward no or a 'no, but try again next year', or is that just for JA auditionees?
  4. Gotta love this topic Funnily enough, my dd who is only 11 has recently become self-conscious about her rather hairy legs! I was actually really upset with her when I saw that she had shaved them, I really don't think she should be bothered about it at her age.
  5. Post's just been it's a no for my daughter - expected, but still disappointing
  6. Still nothing here either - also London 15 Jan
  7. One of my dd's dance teachers was particularly concerned with the lack of core strength in her students, so introduced Pilates and body conditioning exercises before lyrical classes. This has certainly made a big difference to my daughter in ballet.
  8. Hello everyone! I'm new to this forum and would like to start by saying a really big thank you to you all for all that I've learnt by reading your posts. This is the first year my dd has auditioned for anything and to be honest, I've found it quite daunting! Has anyone had any experience of the National Youth Ballet? My dd has been called back for a second audition and doesn't quite know what to expect. Any information or advice would be very welcome. Thank you
