  1. Just to be aware that ordinary schools may not have the facilities to allow children to change before leaving. We are already on tight schedules due to staggered timings.
  2. Would highly recommend the courses run by Ballet Cymru. Wales International ballet summer school is according to my dd the best she's attended (and she has attended quite a few over the years). Not residential though.
  3. Thank you for all your replies - very much appreciated.😊
  4. Hello, I’m looking for recommendations for a dance photographer in London - preferably studio based. Any suggestions welcome.
  5. Many congratulations to your son on gaining such a prestigious role! I have some lovely photos of him and my daughter from when they partnered each other during a summer school. He was an incredibly hard worker and I've no doubt he'll be successful wherever life takes him.
  6. I know Lilac Theatre do adult classes but not sure about ballet. Might be worth looking on their website.
  7. MB New Adventures are also holding one day Swan Lake workshops.
  8. Could you tell me where I would be able to find more information about this please?
  9. Just to say, please be aware they look ridiculously small before stretched! I recently bought my dd a pair after reading this thread and thought initially I had been sent the wrong size 😆
  10. My dd currently trains at the Hammond on the dance course and rarely wears full makeup day to day. I would definitely agree it’s personal preference although of course they are expected to be well presented.
  11. Just had confirmation email that OPES is definitely going ahead and is to be held in Errol's memory. I'm sure it will be very emotional for everyone involved.
  12. Just to say that first year Hammond is still very much dance based (or certainly has been this year). My dd is not mt at all but has really enjoyed the first year. 2nd year is further split between MT, dance with vocal or dance with choreo.
  13. The absolutely wonderful thing about this forum is that people are now speaking out and this will help others. I think there is still a massive stigma regarding mental health problems and I think that brave posts such as this will hopefully help others to accept that such problems exist, are by no means rare and can happen to any one of our children. Thank you to both you and your daughter for your courage.
  14. Definitely my favourite royal wedding! Normally my interest wanes once I've seen dress but today I was riveted from beginning to end. Fabulous!
  15. I also think it has a lot to do with confidence, visualisation and of course practise. Pictures I've pmd you.
  16. I got no email but parcel was delivered today.
  17. I phoned as I hadn't received an order confirmation but I had got an email advising payment had been authorised. The sales lady confirmed my order and said there was some glitch in the system preventing customers receiving confirmation of their orders.
  18. I know of someone who got MDS after they'd started.
  19. I just want to add that I'm so grateful for this thread; that so many people are acknowledging there is a huge problem is reassuring and is a step in the right direction for actually addressing it.
  20. Indeed you might, however time out for injury frequently leads to or exacerbates emotional problems.
  21. Unfortunately, there seems to be an enormous lack of understanding in particular of emotional problems and an unwillingness to support them which is quite ironic considering studies have shown that very creative people have more of a tendency to suffer from these. I wonder how much talent has been lost through lack of support?
