  1. My son is hugely excited about The Wind in the Willows. I'm excited about a lot of others but in these difficult times one has to choose and I think the young 'uns should have first pick. I've never been to ROH2 or the Linbury Studio and since the site's jampacked I can't get in to check. Are tickets for these the same or cheaper than the main stage? Can't imagine they would be more expensive.
  2. It's just been announced. http://www.roh.org.uk/news/201213-season-announced-ballet-and-dance Personally, I find it much more interesting than the Paris Opera's new season which was announced on Monday.
  3. This is my routine too. As far as the combining or splitting of forums is concerned, I'm with Don Q fan:
  4. Actually Rojo was the only ballerina he specifically mentioned as being someone he enjoyed working with.
  5. I found it simply invaluable for advance casting information which helped me to plan my trips far ahead, and which I couldn't find anywhere else. The exchange of opinions about performances and performers is also fascinating and I learn a lot from that.
  6. Thank you, JohnM, I've done that and for the moment it seems to be working. Fingers crossed!
  7. Is that one simple operation clicking on the "Remember me" button or is there something else to be done? Because I've tried that but every time I close my browser window I seem to automatically logout and have to sign in again when I come back to the site. Maybe it's the browser that's the problem? I use Google Chrome. Thanks for any help, I'm extremely technologically challenged. I also think an annual subscription payment is the most practical solution.
  8. Oh I agree with you Buddy, it's very personal and subjective. I consider ballet as food for the soul, watching Rojo or Nunez or Cojocaru in particular or any good dancer in general is an uplifting experience for me, leading to reactions which probably seem very silly to other people. I mean, Fille is a lighthearted bucolic ballet isn't it? So how do I explain why watching Nunez and Acosta in the final pdd reduces me to tears?
  9. Me too. I visit the site at least once a day but usually just check the News and What's Happening sections and don't log in unless I want to post something. I will now make it a point to log in every time. Balletco is my favourite dance forum and I would really hate to lose it.
  10. I have never seen the RB's performance of The Dream, and really wish they would bring out a DVD. I have the ABT one and Puck is indeed amazing. But having watched the footage of Ashton coaching Dowell and Sibley in the final pdd, it was clear that Ferri and Stiefel's version was very different. As for Titania being charming, Ashton says in that video that he didn't want her to be sweet but to have a farouche quality , which Sibley definitely has but Ferri doesn't.
  11. Bolle, of course! (smacks forehead). Can't imagine how I forgot him, goodness knows the Italian press gives him lots and lots of attention! OMG it *is* Freudian
  12. Sorry to be so ignorant but I've been racking my brains and I can't think of the etoile whose name starts with "BO". Who is it please?
  13. It was a splendid performance, and one that I feel very privileged to have seen. To me Rojo is the quintessential Juliet, her performance on the DVD is so convincing that you think it simply couldn't be better - and then you see her live and it is.
  14. Thanks for the lovely review, Lynette. I don't know why I have a sort of feeling - and I really hope I'm wrong - that this may be the last chance to see the Rojo-Acosta R&J at Covent Garden. And thanks for the photographs, Dave. I've got so used to considering Federico Bonelli as Prince par excellence that it's a bit difficult to see him as a careless young lad!
  15. I just saw this thread and wanted to say that I would be happy to contribute in whatever way I can, which would probably be primarily through a membership fee since I don't have any useful administrative skills. Also, since I don't live in the UK, I don't get to see that many performances of the RB, BRB et al and that naturally limits how much I can actually post as against how much time I spend lurking :-( But I really missed the forums, so I hope they will continue and I'm here to stand up and be counted.
  16. Merry Christmas everyone It's great to have the forums back!
