  1. I haven’t seen Different Drummer for years so no idea if the 16plus recommendation was alarmist, but heading out for dinner between the other two ballets worked very well. An usher very tactfully enquired about my daughter’s age (she’s 13) before I explained that we wouldn’t be watching Different Drummer. I was impressed by his manner/ ROH’s care. Manon last month was so wonderfully acted that the violence depicted shocks anew each time, I am surprised if that really is just a 14plus age recommendation. Requiem was so very beautiful as always.
  2. Presuming there any risk of running order being changed? Realised that Different Drummer is not recommended for under sixteens so planning to take my daughter for dinner during that hour and 45 mins.
  3. Always fun to see new pieces. I loved 2,3 and 4. Maybe I wasn’t quite warmed up enough for Boundless.
  4. SCS have been my favourite for twenty years, but seems harder than ever to get them as there are so many tiers above General Booking. Have previously been a Friend and Friend Plus but used to sometimes have better luck on General Booking days when more tickets were released. Thought with so many performances of Swan Lake it would be easier, but by the time I had reached the end of the queue after more than 15 minutes, they had all gone! I’ll think I’ll join Friends Plus again, at least if booking isn’t any easier I can still enjoy the Friends rehearsals.
  5. A belated thank you for this link Jan, it was really helpful. I forgot my password and got locked out of my account so didn’t reply earlier! In the end we haven’t gone for this one but she did get a lot out of the two productions she’s already done with them.
  6. We are also interested in this. We watched Legat’s summer show “What a wonderful world” on YouTube and you can see the associates dancing with tambourines. Our daughter is in another associates scheme which she loves but we are considering the school in the future.
  7. Love the forum, thank you to Jan and the people who run it. My daughter has done a couple of EYB productions before and we are wondering whether Cinderella in Hollywood is as nice as the others. Hard to tell from the mini video if the music and costumes are as lovely as Swan Lake and Coppelia. Any thoughts welcome please! My daughter is 12, what kind of parts are for this age?
