The article is literally just to do with the direction that a persons thigh & knee can face more easily and how the huge variation of hip structures naturally predisposes how much the hip can flex (or hinge) and in what direction.

 

Now if only we could safely 3D X-ray all the professional ballet dancers there might be a way of saying which hip joints were the best!!! ????
