Lifeafterballet? Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 Hi, I am researching colleges for 2014 entry studying Classical/Modern Ballet. I will be 16 years old and will have just taken my GCSE's. I think I am looking for a BA(Hons) course although I really don't know what other options I have besides vocational colleges. I have looked at courses at Central, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Rambert and Conservatore of Dance & Drama. Am I missing any? Any advice would be great please!! Thank you so much
w445403 Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 How important are the funding options for the courses? Are you asking about a degree course because of the studuent loan element? Ballet West is, I think, an HND course, can you apply for a studuent loan for an HND? 1
dramascientist Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 I was told by Ballet West there was student loan funding available, at least that is what I understood by their email. I think you can upgrade to degree level after two years, somebody correct me if I'mwrong. 1
Lifeafterballet? Posted May 16, 2013 Author Posted May 16, 2013 Thank you! Yes, Funding is the main factor for my choice. If money was no object I would LOVE to go to vocational school but my Dad said apparently we dont have a money tree at the bottom of the garden - if only - ha!ha!!!! 6
BalletBloch Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Northern Ballet School (Diploma) Legat School of Dance (A-Levels) London Studio Centre Classical Course (BA HONs - but you need A-Levels) 1
