The red shoes
Has anyone got any experience of this? Looking at Schools in Germany and USA for Ds but will be 14 at the time of entry. How hard is it to get a Visa if at all possible? Welcome anyone’s experiences or advice .
Birdy
It may depend on what country you’re coming from. My DD is from the US and only needed a residency permit for a school in Europe. Students needing visas to study there had to wait quite a while for the process to be completed. I’m sure every country has different rules, but DD’s program is run through a university so she got her residency permit with the school as a sponsor.
Peanut68
I imagine rules vary based on age of entry/length of study too as you mention DS is 14 so therefore very unlikely he’d be trying to work (so I imagine visas etc easier to gain…)
RachH
Strangely, SAB needed my daughter to get a vocational student visa to go to the young dancers summer workshop for 1 week this June! It was a relatively straightforward process - we had to complete some online forms and send her passport to the US embassy. Took about 4 weeks, no interview needed. She now has a student visa lasting 5 years, linked to SAB!
BalletBoyMumma
Good question. No advice but I'm keen to know too - I came here looking for the same sort of info. UK based and looking at European schools here. No dual nationality to fall back on sadly.
