Jan McNulty
I've never been to the O2 before. Are you allowed to take your own refreshments or do you have to purchase inside? I will have to make my way straight there from Euston so haven't much opportunity to lunch before hand. Thanks, Janet
JeanB
Hi Janet, It's fine to take your own food, especially if you are short of time because it can take quite a while to enter as there are only 2 main ways in. Quite a few food stalls once you are in though, but likely to be busy ! I have sent you an email with my mobile number but not sure if I have your correct address. I am there Tuesday and Wednesday, would be good to see you. Am very excited ! Jean
Jan McNulty
Hi Jean, I am only there on Thursday matinee. I haven't received an email from you. I'm glad you can take your own refreshments in. At the Echo Arena they even confiscated a box of biscuits I had bought as a present for someone in hospital! I kicked up such a stink that they agreed to hold them till the end for me and I did get them back eventually!
alison
But do be aware that they remove the caps from any bottles you have on you. Personally, I'm planning on eating elsewhere - I think it'll be a lot easier. I seem to remember that there are plenty of food places of a sort at Euston. Nana Lily
Thanks for this info, we too will be arriving just before lunch for the Thurs matinee. Think we will be heading to M&S at Euston on our way to the underground!
alison
OTOH, if you check the T&Cs on your ticket wallet, it does say that external food and drink won't be allowed in. I only had a bottle of water with me last time, I remember, and maybe an apple or something, but don't remember a problem getting it through. alison
I've started a thread in What's Happening for discussion of the actual performances: http://www.balletcoforum.com/index.php?/topic/25-brb-nutcracker-at-the-o2/ It also occurred to me that we'd lost the link to the casting in the move, so here it is again: http://brb.org.uk/masque/index.htm?act=WhatsOn&urn=22737&tsk=fullcast We've also lost details of any ticket offers, but here's one I remember: http://www.travelzoo.com/uk/local-deals/London/Entertainment/9532
Jan McNulty
Alison, thanks for the tips and relinking various threads. I took a bag of refreshments with me but had time to eat a light lunch in Cafe Rouge. Although the security men were checking bags and I could see them removing bottle tops they didnt even look in my bags even though one of them was an obvious M&S food hall bag. (I ate them on the train home!).
