Putting more than one image in a Paint file?

Having only recently discovered the joys of being able to put screen grabs into a Paint file (previously I'd put them into Word docs, which wasn't ideal), I've been trying to put more than one image into a Paint file, rather unsuccessfully - I seem to be coming up against, perhaps, a page length limit or something.  Does anyone know if it's possible to have more than one image in the same Paint file, please?  I can't see any obvious options for doing it.

you can use 'paste from' and select a second file, but manipulation after the initial paste (and move by dragging)  is then very limited

Have a look at GIMP https://www.gimp.org/ a graphics package like photoshop but at a much better price (err it's free). I have both on my work PC and I find GIMP far easier to use.
