ContDanceMusic Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 (edited) Hello, I'm an accompanist in London that plays for contemporary technique class. I've been creating a library of music that's all arranged by count and tempo for teachers and students to use as a resource during class and practice. Currently there are 7 albums (135 tracks) available to stream for free on Spotify I'll be adding another album shortly (more info at http://www.contemporarydancemusic.com) and any feedback or requests will be welcomed. Hope you enjoy the music and some of you ballerinas will find this of use! Oliver Edited April 8, 2017 by ContDanceMusic link 3
Dancing unicorn Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Fabulous! Will definately be getting these! Been after some contemp music for grades for ages. Its so hard to get music thats suitable. Thank you 1
ContDanceMusic Posted April 8, 2017 Author Posted April 8, 2017 Pleasure There's a description of what's on each album in the 'Music' section of the site (http://contemporarydancemusic.tumblr.com/Music) if that helps. Also if you've any counts/timings that you need music for that's currently not available I'd be happy to try to incorporate them into future releases. 1
Dancing unicorn Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Just got to figure out how to download on Spotify so that I can use them haha! I am useless with technology! 1
ContDanceMusic Posted April 8, 2017 Author Posted April 8, 2017 I think only premium users can download - if it's only a few tracks let me know what they are and I'll send them for free! 1
ContDanceMusic Posted April 9, 2017 Author Posted April 9, 2017 (edited) If anyone else would like a couple of tracks I'd be happy to send them as a promo for forum members. If you PM the two tracks you want with your email address I'll send over mp3s. You can hear all the tracks on the Spotify link in the OP or if you have issues with that you might find something on YouTube - here's a playlist of all 7 release samplers. Jan McNulty Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 Hello ContDanceMusic and welcome to the Forum! This sounds like a fabulous resource that you are building up. Are all the albums free to stream? Are they available by means other than Spotify? 1
ContDanceMusic Posted April 10, 2017 Author Posted April 10, 2017 Hi Janet, Thanks for the welcome and taking an interest. Currently all the music is available in most online stores/streaming services (iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Googleplay etc). If you'd like to listen for free both Spotify and Googleplay have non-premium accounts where you can do so but there will be adverts. Alternatively if you have an Amazon Prime account you can listen for no extra charge there. It's also been added to the stores below, I've no experience of their services but they might also offer free streaming. "Pandora, Deezer, Tidal, Microsoft Groove, ClaroMusica, Saavn, MediaNet, Applemusic" Hope this helps Oliver
ContDanceMusic Posted April 11, 2017 Author Posted April 11, 2017 (edited) I've just added an eight album which is the first drum and piano release covering counts of 'four', 'five', 'six' and 'seven'. You can hear a sampler below: I've also created a Spotify playlist which features all 155 tracks released. Edited April 11, 2017 by ContDanceMusic words!
ContDanceMusic Posted April 22, 2017 Author Posted April 22, 2017 Another album has been added, 'Volume 9' which consists of another 20 instrumental tracks covering the counts of 'eight', 'nine' and 'ten'. Here's the YouTube sampler; And here's an updated playlist on Spotify with all 175 tracks; The next releases will be during the summer but I'll check back here for any weird timing requests or questions. 1
_emeralds Posted April 23, 2017 Posted April 23, 2017 What an amazing resource! Thanks so much for this. My aim is to practice more at home, these pieces could come in very useful! 1
