Lynette H
I didn't spot this article in links https://www.1843magazine.com/culture/freedom-in-motion This touches on Dane Hurst and other South African dancers and their successes, including international prizes won, Worth a read. Jan McNulty
Not mentioned in the article but Mlindi Kulashe is cutting a dash at Northern Ballet (he came via ENBS).
Jillykins
If you have time look at the Zama Dance School in Cape Town. My ex student Andrew Warth does wonderful work with poor children with wonderful results. Some of his students go on to become professional dancers. I believe the classes are government funded. They are tempted to class by offer of a meal.
Ian Macmillan
Lynette: Yes, I clearly missed that Economist article for Links Last week - the magazine is not one we normally cover and it doesn't provide very frequent Dance coverage, but I'll add it to my 'occasional' list. Many thanks!
