  1. Hi, I was guessing everything would make sense when we go for the induction day? They said they sell things at school. Hopefully they will be available on the day?
  2. It was on the 1st of April in 2011... I spoke to Sylvia Hubbard yesterday and she told me after Easter
  3. Very hard losing the links with Royal though after so long. Praying for Summer School now!
  4. Sent the slip to decline little DD's Bimingham Mids place yesterday as have made the decision to accept Hammond school place. Was given advice that a year's vocational training more beneficial than one 2 1/4 lesson. Hope they are right!
  5. Can anyone tell me what time mids is in Birmingham and Manchester?
  6. Letter was addressed to me. And yes it is lovely after all her knocks.
  7. My DD is Birmingham JA and didn't get finals for white lodge and didn't get elmhurst place either so wasn't expecting this
  8. My little DD got mids. Nice end to a tough few months
  9. Thanks Spannerandpony, I'm no better, although out of hospital but thankfully little DD is doing fine. She's disappointed about Elmhurst but as only one of her JA class got in it has softened the blow considerably. No idea what has happened there as there are some very nice little dancers/ballet bodies in that group. I will probably start another topic on that. Little DD is So similar to her older sister 'not ready yet, is not something I would say about her. Maybe she should take a different direction or maybe we continue on the ballet route yet with all but one of the girls going to finals from Birmingham not getting places anywhere, the chance if an MA is about nil. How to get the right training now?
  10. Think we used all of our good luck on older DD. It's a no. Tring and Hammond funding to wait for now :/. Well done to all those who have been successful. Angel x
  11. Thank you Lisadebs. Maybe a waiting list place? Sigh x
  12. I can't understand what's gone wrong for her will see if someone can bring it in to me. I don't want to tell her. She'll be so upset and I won't be there
  13. Oh dear DD's is normal size
  14. I'm in hospital. What size were the letters??x
  15. Hi. I will be there with my little DD. she's in group 1. Apparently there are less than 40 girls so smallish groups (for year 7)
  16. So happy to read this news but not at all surprised after seeing your DD dance on Saturday. She is beautful x
  17. Thank you JulieW, Your reference points are great and probably the same as I had guessed. My own DD's idea of what a very good mark would be much higher I think so if her mark is lower this year I can maybe reassure her? Unless she is assessed out of course and then she can tell me 'I told you so'. I agree with you about the children keeping marks to themselves I suppose but it is so hard as parents to know what is 'normal'. At least knowing what an average mark is could maybe give them an indication of how they are doing. Do you know if marks go down significantly from year 8 to 9 across the board. The class teacher told them to expect lower marks but not sure that was a pre appraisal kick up the backside or an indication of the norm or indeed that they are not doing so well as a class?! Too many questions of course and I still have little DD to find her place

    Where do you live?
  19. Can anyone give me an idea of what a good appraisal mark % is. Parents and children alike keep these marks a closely guarded secret and I entirely understand why but it means that you have no idea actually how well your DC has done compared to their classmates. I know it's not about competing directly but if their mark is consistently lower (or indeed higher) than others at least you might have a clue how they are doing! Can anyone whose DD has done well in the past give an idea what a good mark is or someone who has been assessed out give an idea what kind of mark came along with the letter? PM's welcome of course. Angel x
  20. My DD was asked what her favourite book was
  21. My Little DD went to Tring today. I don't think I've ever gone to an audition with less hope of a positive outcome. Dd said there were a lot of very nice dancers there (very nice mums too)
  22. Was that last year? Thank you
