Ponklemum - I reiterate that students should be guided by their regular teacher at their dance school or associate programme. These teachers know your child and most are offering some way of giving feedback either by doing age appropriate zoom/skype classes or as in my case (as I've had the virus and been too ill to teach) I'm having video sent to me from students and giving feedback by email or video message.

A LOT of the online offerings are not designed for children, nor are they taught by people who are used to working with children (ie they are used to working with advanced students and professionals and both physically and mentally, children are NOT mini adults!).

Never a truer word and sending you hugs hope your feeling better xx.

I haven't checked this feed for a couple of days and it looks like the reserve list is going down! Any news from the boys from that last audition @WrapsnBows? Woke up at 3am worrying about it - and there's plenty to be worrying about at the moment as it is! Wishing you all the best. And @Milzmam and everyone else waiting! Congratulations @CaleaLooking forward to hearing more good news stories. Stay safe x

Not at the moment I’ve seen a few posts of acceptance for all 4 schools but not if they are returning MDS and my DS spoke to the other Lads yesterday and nothing was said ....... this is really breaking the wine on a school night rule oh well just one more day each day of waiting lol.
fingers crossed that the lists will start to move over the next few days x

This isn’t dance related but still awesome news anyway but I have been offered a place at my top choice university for children’s nursing. After the face to face interview being cancelled due to the virus and then having it be conducted over the phone, I wasn’t exactly prepared! Here’s to hoping things soon calm down and the scheduled start time will still be September!

That’s amazing news for you, must of been so nerve wrecking over the phone unprepared

Hi everyone, hope you are all keeping healthy and well.  Can anyone help with any rough dates of when any lucky DC that have multiple offers, may not accept a place and hand in back?  Just trying to have realistic plans and there must be dates of offer letters that DC have to accept by or they get reoffend to reserve lists?
Thank you everyone for any feedback on previous experience or from anyone in the lucky position of multiple offers, that can shine a light into the deadline date for acceptance.... x

We are on the Hammond reserve list and they have told us all reserves will be notified after the 17th April  ..... it’s been an awful long wait for every one this year

  5. Let’s keep this thread going .... anybody has any luck in joining in with their childs dance class or have tried any of these family vids or rewritten lyrics

has anybody had acceptance for full time next year??

what have you done to make you feel proud

I’ve unfortunately been working on a web shop but oh boy I’ve had a laugh watching my DD Stretch herself into positions 🤸‍♂️

Thanks for the advice - I’m torn between letting dd do some of the classes like EYB and NYB where it’s aimed at young people and I know and trust the brand, and saying to just wait for her dance school. I don’t mind about her losing fitness etc as that’s all regainable, but a good class does make her so much happier, and that’s really important at the moment when she’s cut off from so many of the things that make her happy.

Just think about it being a pick me up for her in these times ...... when they dance so much then cut to nothing over night it’s as much as a shock for them than us, also it’s nice for them to see other teacher choreography, my DD19 is loving the EYB Classes and has also been doing stretch classes from my DS dance classes and is really enjoying stepping away from her uni dance assessments and learning from others xxxxx

Hallo- does anyone know of any PBT or Strength and Conditioning  classes being streamed? Age 13

Phil tunstill from EYB did a Pilates session yesterday, my dd 19 did it it’s was good apparently must of been as she says she aches today 🤣. Would yourself   @drdance or Miss Ellie care todo one as I know my two would tune in ❤️

  8. The whole Funding process should be more clear and consistent between the schools, written in black n white especially when it’s government money!!   I took my DC Y7 at a local secondary school to appeal and they had to detail everything in advance in accordance to government rule, they were even quizzed by a local parish councillor why they had not included a government building pot of funds for building a new block to make space for more pupils and this was only last year...... i myself have asked for clarification as to which way to go forward for sept with another school and got told they want my DC but can’t discuss anything due to Gdpr

I love this idea.  Thankyou for starting this thread.

I have nothing significant to share asI'm well out of the loop with dance related achievements these days - but I did manage a short at home pilates workout yesterday morning.  Felt really awesome, despite having to repeatedly wriggle into different positions to find the right space on the living room floor.

Hehe I can see it now my DD & DS ask our next door (60-70ish) if she would like to join in the ballet barre class or the yoga today 🤣

  12. Evening it may seem a bit nosey but It be nice to see and share some good news for a change xx. Anything dance related, exam passes, school placements, castings etc or just being awesome beings.  Come on let’s shout out for a bit of cheer

I wonder how many MDS have been awarded and how many on reserve list. We would have had an idea how many people had been offered if we had been there today but now we have no idea!

Unfortunately it’s all in the hands of tring and Elmhurst where we are on the waiting list ....... fingers crossed for every one xx

Yes - we were at the last audition! Were you there too?! Would be very interested to know if they delivered any no’s as the children haven’t had the opportunity to audition again - I am assuming a looooong reserve list. Would very much love this opportunity for DS.

Yes all boys on that day looks like reserved list as my lad knew the other two lads and they are reserves too, fingers crossed though I suppose we won’t get any more info till after the 17th April as tring and Elmhurst auditions were this week for lower school, so depending on them and who has been given a place at RBS so hopefully there will be some movement over the next few weeks

  15. Evening my DS Has just been places on the waiting list for the Hammond MDS but I am interested who has in the past been offered a bursary, when were you informed about it etc as unsure if to continue with paying out if it’s not worth it a specially in this uncertain climate 😢. Also who many in the past have been on the reserve list but then have gained an MDS  thank you

Hi everyone, sending you all lots of positive thoughts, I remember this waiting process and it’s so hard. Just letting you know (to help with the anxious wait) that school is crazy busy today setting up online learning, Y11 exams, and all the other stuff the school closure today is bringing. Only sharing as we are getting lots of e mails at the moment re arrangements, so it may be the case that MDS e mails come after that- hope that helps in some way xxx and good luck to everyone! My daughter is in Y7 and loves the school, she is devastated that she might miss the rest of the dancing year xx

Yes my DD was sent home on Tues and she’s receiving emails constantly theve even set up online ‘team’ system for distance learning she’s gutted as their play / assessment will be cancelled 😢 she was so stressed when she came home the other day with What ifs
