  1. I just feel really peeved that for £50 my daughters videos were only watched for a few minutes. We always knew there was a nearly zero percent chance of gaining a place and she successfully auditioned for Elmhurst in the summer and loves it there so chances are we would have turned a place down anyway but still really frustrating
  2. I feel a bit annoyed that so little of her videos were viewed. I know they would skip to the bits they needed to see but her first video was only watched for 2 mins, second for 1 and third for 3. I honestly thought they would look at a little more than that. Makes me feel quite so disheartened that they must have not liked what they saw straight away!
  3. It’s a no for my daughter too. They only ever watched 6 mins of her videos.
  4. My daughter too!! What are you thinking you would do if you were offered a RJA place too? X
  5. We’re waiting for year 5 Manchester too. Did your daughter get a place at Elmhurst?
  6. We are group 2 and none of our videos have been watched all the way through. Only a few minutes of two of them and none at all of part two. I’m thinking this means that they didn’t see what they were looking for straight away 😞
  7. My daughter started Manchester today although it was relocated to Stockport! Anyone else’s daughter in the year 5 Manchester? X
  8. My daughter was in group two. Part 1 and 2 have been viewed twice for about 40 seconds and part 3 has been viewed 9 times, for 4 mins in total?!
  9. My daughter is 137cm, I’m wondering if I should ask them to swap it but I just have visions of the age 12 being way too big!
  10. I’m a little worried now, I’ve ordered a 8-10 for my daughter. She is 10 in October, quite slim but average height- I hope it’s not too small!
  11. Hi, I’m looking for an Elmhurst young dancers leotard and tracksuit in age 8-10. thank you
  12. I’ve had the Manchester group info, but am I right in that there’s no times at the moment? Just want to make sure I haven’t missed something!
  13. Did everyone receive an email last night or just Birmingham? My daughter is starting Manchester year 5 and we haven’t heard anything after the email offering her a place last Thursday?
  14. So I don’t know if this is just me being naive but I’m feeling a little peeved that we’ve paid £50 for what is now going to be a video audition and there’s a high chance that other associate programs will be well underway by the time the results are out so even if children were offered a place, some may not be able to accept. £50 is a vast sum of money to me for an audition. I completely understand that the circumstances have changed and video auditions are what is neccasary but I feel like a partial refund would be nice! Obviously I don’t expect it, I’m just moaning out loud and seeing if anyone else feels like this!
  15. Hi!! my daughter is starting Manchester year 5. I have no idea what we are doing, we didn’t for a second think she’d get a place and we know pretty much nothing about it- apart from her teacher thought it would be good for her. I have a few questions if anyone can answer.... how many children are in each class roughly? Do they have to reapply every year? does anyone know how much the fees are? Does anyone know the times for Manchester? Is there somewhere for parents to wait? Do they ever get the opportunity to perform in front of parents? sorry for all the questions- as I said I am clueless!
  16. Thanks for all your advice everyone. She is hoping to apply to other associate programs but we are struggling to find any within a sensible distance. Manchester is about an hour and 15 minute drive from us, so I am thinking maybe Elmhurst as well as RBS but would love to hear other recommendations.
  17. Hi, I’m totally new to all this so very glad I found this forum! My 9 year old daughter wants to apply for the Royal Ballet associate program but I’m worried that her feet will hold her back. They don’t have a high arch at all and even when she’s fully stretching them, they look quite flat. I’ve read a few comments on here that girls didn’t have the “right feet” for RBS and just wondered if anyone had any experience of girls whose feet weren’t “right” but still achieved a place. Thank you!
