I understood it to be 5 different photos in different positions, that's what we submitted. It's obviously made no difference as she's still go an audition 😃 xx

Yeah I think you are right... just looked at them again... I feel such an idiot now. I'd better email them! They are going to think I'm a right idiot 😞😞😞😞xx

Ignore me! I get confused between what we sent for JAs and Elmhurst so likely just the one photo 😂

Still no email here. Has anyone with a Sunday audition had anything yet?

No I have looked and misread it 😞 I only sent the plie photo.. I had better email them. I hope I haven't affected her chances... It's not her fault her mum is an idiot!  😞 x

I had an email last week asking to confirm if we wanted the slot but not heard anything since xx

Same here... I'm having so much trouble with my emails.  Would you mind letting me know when you do? Then I know to ask if I haven't had one lol xx

Ah I see! Ignore me 😂

I'm hoping that the panels will be kind but have flashes of all the amazing dancers DD follows on instagram who just seem to have gotten better over lockdown 😩 zoom classes didn't suit her and motivation has definitely taken a hit.

No zoom didn't suit everyone. I don't look on Instagram lol, for that reason. Not sure how it's going to work on Zoom, it will be an experience, that's for sure! 😂 and it's all good experience for our children too.

I'm pretty sure that Young Dancer is on a Saturday but at a different time to JAs so children can do both? May well be wrong though!

Got our email today... starting to regret letting DD have a relaxed summer as certainly not audition ready 🙈

Hi for Plymouth it's Sunday for Elmhurst and Saturday for RBS JAs 😊 least that's what it was

I'm sure your DD will be ok, they must know we've all been out of the studios lol, well I'm hoping so 😂

Thanks for that DD on SWL for JA with loads of others so doubt a place will become available.

You never know, might do 😊 are there lots of others on W/L? Congratulations for getting swl 😊

That’s great my daughter also going into Lower Mids BB glad the classes don’t clash.  Good luck to your DD for the audition I hope they are both are successful.

    Is Young Dancers every week?

    And you ❤

Yep every Sunday.. I think it's Sunday because  RBS JAs are every Saturday, avoids clash for those who do both xx

We have had an email today about a year 6 zoom audition next Saturday.  So glad we have finally got some news regarding Young Dancers and that classes will be going ahead in September. Does anyone no the timing of the year 6 class in Plymouth please? Just so I know whether it will be possible if my DD is successful as daughter also starting ballet boost on a Sunday each month.

We got ours too, last year they were Sunday afternoon. My DD was successful last year yr5 but we had to decline as it was a morning class and she had BB Sunday mornings, she's been moved to lower mids BB which is mornings, so if she is successful again for Elmhurst I'm hoping the yr6 stays pm lol x

Yes, she does a lot of classes!

4 other dance classes, next to her ballet class.

on top of that she assist the ballet teacher on a Saturday with the little girls for 5 classes long.

Of course, she would be willing to drop that or for example her tap lessons.

My daughter does not have a lot of other things besides dancing.

just an hour swimming and piano.

It is indeed very hard to decide, as our daughters all love dancing so much and they would of course want to do more and more.

But we have to sort of decide what is appropriate for their body at this age.

Yeah and that in itself is tricky lol... my DD does tap, modern and musical theatre. Then Ballet she has 3 a week inc JA and then 4 once a month for BB. She doesn't do anything else, I try to vary the stuff she does, so she doesn't do a huge amount of the same thing. She's auditioning for vocational schools for 2021 intake, that's scarey too lol x

    Thank you Crazylifecrazykids!

I love your forum name, as that could so

    suit my family life 😁

What a shame, that your daughter was not

able to do Swan Lake, because of Covid.

The BW JA is only once a month and

the RBS JA for us is twice a month.

I am pretty sure my daughter can handle it all.

I just started doubting, as her local dance school teacher said that it was better to focus on one Associate Programme and that she was still growing, so too much strain on her body is not good.

Difficult isn't it... because I'm new to this I too listen to her dance teacher and ask her alot! I usually go with her advice. Maybe have another chat with her, does your daughter do alot of classes at dance school? Or other things? Mine never had dance on a weekend with her dance school. Although you've got me thinking now, maybe it was too much for my DD as she's not long 10... She had a great time but I'd hate to think it's affected her physically 🤔

  11. My daughter is an RBS JA and a Ballet Boost JA year 5, she did both last year, she also was part of Birmingham royal Ballet swan lake dreams.. it was hectic but she coped really well and learnt loads, having alot of fun along the way! It's also good to listen to her teacher too, so you can weigh up the pros and cons so to speak... we found Ballet Boost complimented her RBS training really well too, BB is once every 3 weeks or so, RBS weekly, then her BRB rehersals. She had a great time, sadly never got to perform swan lake as COVID had other ideas but despite that she still loved it.. She even manged to squeeze in a Panto 😂😂😂. I think if you know your child could cope with both then try it.. I guess she could leave one programme if it wasn't working out for some reason, nothing is undoable. Congratulations to your DD for being offered both x

So did i... I'm worried we're going to be missed off the list. I have had emails before now so i might just drop them a little follow up xx

Ahh ok.. I didn't see it until I saw there had been on this forum, then found it. Have you checked your junk folder? X

I haven't had an email... were they emails responding to your enquiry or a general email ? Xx

Not sure. I applied and paid for the audition what seems and age a go, so guess from that. Email them may be and ask to be added to the list? Xx

I wonder if they're planning on abandoning it for 2020. It's getting a little close really to make arrangements etc isn't it? X

Oooh I hope not...maybe they are waiting to see if they can do them. I believe RBS yr 6 JA was a video audition but YR 4 and 5 auditons will be in the autumn.. so I've read on here. Ballet Boost did video audition. English youth Ballet auditon is video too, so hopefuly Elmhurst will arrange something 😊 I'm trying to be positive 😂

  15. Thankyou for this. I'm going to show it to my DD....I quite often say to her if it's meant to be it will be. She has had lots of knocks, she too just kept going and she's had successes. I have no dance background at all and this world completely confusing! 😂 x

Wow that's really amazing 👏... thank you so much for sharing that. Which did you end up picking ? Xx

We ended up doing RBS weekly and Ballet Boost every 3 weeks,  we declined Elmhurst so she had some time to herself lol but she is auditioning again for Elmhurst young dancers for a year 6 place as well as starting prelimeries for vocational schools, so we are on the audition roundabout again and I still don't know what I'm doing! Haha she has a Yr 6 RBS place and a BB junior associates place still, it's going to be busy this year but I'm sure she'll will make memories and I will go a little greyer! 😂 x

Ok so here's one for you all.... I'm assumin your children have other auditions too 🤷‍♀️. What if acceptance dates are before you receive results from other auditions? Would it be silly not to accept at the risk of not being offered any others ?? Totally our first time so really nervous xx

If this helps, this was my experience last year... my DD was a first time auditionee and me a first time mum in the Dance world. She auditioned for 3 associates programmes, Ballet boost, Elmhurst and RBS, to our shock she was offered places at all 3. We had time to decide which ones she would do, it would be good if you have a plan of what you would accept. We didn't think she would be offered any, so had no plan but it worked out ok in the end. Good luck with the auditions x
