I've been thinking the same, not seen a single year 5. Not looking like there is much hope for yr 5s. 😔

Group 4 deadline was an hour ago so countdown to results begin. I guess it will be mid November before we find out. Good luck everyone. 🤞🤞

All very confusing. I plan to just go with the guidance Elmhurst are giving. My main concern is where I am going to go to the loo during my DDs class if they close all the local cafes etc 😂😂😬

Just had the reminder email. When we submitted we did not get a confirmation of receipt, it just took us to a page saying something like 'thank you for getting in touch'. I'm worrying they haven't received our videos. Did others get a confirmation?

I was just coming on here to say exactly that! 😊 I noticed they did mention not to travel to Elmhurst if local restrictions where you live do not allow it.

We linked the laptop to a TV in the end and didn't notice a time delay. Also with the TV on max volume we could hear it ok. When I first tried setting it up I just used the laptop with a Bluetooth speaker and the sound was so quiet with a lag of 2-3 seconds!

That is good to know thank you! Well if they are not taking many year 5s this year we can try again for yr 6 very soon. I really hope the auditions are in person next time. 🤞

I can't think of any year 5 yeses I've seen?? My DDs birthday is right at the end of August so if she'd been born a few days later she would be a year 4. She was only 7 at her audition last year.

Not yet, do they normally view them as they are submitted or after the deadline?

@Balletbuds80 yes you are absolutely right. 🤗 I am so glad I came on this thread and read all these posts because now when we get our impending 'No' we will not be so disappointed.

Do you know it was actually the first 28 seconds or was it just 28 seconds in total? The first 28 seconds they are just stood still listening!

Although it is also really sad to think that a child who was so stunning didn't make it. I hope she made it somewhere else.

That is so lovely to read that they do sometimes make an effort for some children who don't perfectly fit the mould!

Yes that is what I'm thinking. I think this year if anyone gets a no or swl definitely don't take it as meaning your DC is not 'good enough' as they may very well have got a yes under normal circumstances!

It really does seem like all they are giving out is no and swl. Do you think they are taking hardly any and just keeping lots on a waiting list incase covid rules change and the class can be expanded? 🤔 Just a thought!

Years not tears!!! I just hope that for £50 they at least watch the whole audition video! 😂😂

I get the impression they just fill the (very limited) spaces with the kids they want regardless of whether they are yr4 or 5 as the two tears are in together?? Unlike Elmhurst which has a full class of each.

Yes and as applications usually open in January, we won't have to wait long until they start all over again! 😁

Sorry to all of the Nos. 😢 It really does seem like there are very few places this year. Last year on this forum when results came out there were quite a few yeses. Am I right that there has only been one yes on here so far?! At least we can have realistic expectations that it is almost definitely going to be a no. @tutugirl I haven't seen any this year but there were a few yr4 yeses last year but they seemed to be kids older in the school year, the one I know was October born yr4. My DD applied for yr4 last year as a tiny August born and got a no. We were feeling hopeful this year as she has come on so much but I realise the chance is almost zero.

It is our Internet, it is terrible! We live up a hill in the middle of nowhere. 😂 Mine are going from my laptop to YouTube. I was so nervous the audition video wouldn't stream properly with our dodgy Internet but thankfully it was ok.

I'm so glad I didn't leave it until the last minute! 😱 Uploaded number 2 overnight and currently still uploading the third video.

Out of interest, the teacher on our audition videos was from Birmingham which is where we are applying. Did each centre have different videos with their own teachers or did everyone have the Birmingham teacher?

Yes we are group 4, filmed it on Saturday and it took nearly all day Sunday just to upload the first video to YouTube so still need to upload the other 2. My DD really enjoyed it too. Good luck.
