  1. It might be different per centre but in Leeds 4 and 5 are together then 6 is separate. So if you start in yr 4 you essentially repeat a year in yet 5 but it works really well. They all do the same work but yr4 kids do the easier version and yr5 kids do a more advanced version. Xx
  2. Same here! I put it to a random place in the video instead of at the beginning hoping then I’d be able to tell when it was viewed but then forgot and now I don’t know where I set it😂
  3. I have applied for DD for CAT this year. I've also been checking emails every 5 seconds just in case, even though it doesn't close until the 12th and also says contact them by the 29th March if you haven't heard so really I shouldn't be expecting anything until at least the 12th. They do tend to be super efficient though from previous experience with them with my DS so I'm hoping for an early response. Good luck everyone. When I signed up DD she was applicant 385 and that was a week ago, my friend did it a week before me and was 99! But that must be for JA's too x
  4. Just a note about the bands. Definitely worth washing them, just to get any excess colour out of them. I hand washed my daughters as I’d marked it when trying to adjust it (I’m not that forward thinking to consider the colour running lol) and was surprised it made the water slightly blue. What a pain for you @BattementBatty😩 DD absolutely loved her first session and loved Miss Hatton at Leeds. A few people had warned me it will be basic and boring and I did start to wonder if it would be right for her but she loved the calm and the discipline of it. I think it was almost like meditation for her💙💙 How did everyone else find their first week?
  5. Hi All, Another newbie here. I’ve just been reading through and already have learnt so much from this thread thank you. I have a question. My DD is Y4 Leeds. I just wondered how many are in the class and how many are Y4 vs Y5 (I think Y6 are in a separate class??) Also I hadn’t clocked it was single strap, single sole leather ballet shoes. Is this a strict rule? DD has the most beautiful Grishko canvas, double strap, split sole ones...sadly I’ll have to keep those for her normal ballet class from the sounds of it. Oh and we have the uniform and I’m a little bit in love with it😍😂 Looking forward to chatting to you all
  6. I don’t know the other way but I know in normal frog (lying on tummy with knees out to side and legs hanging down) that my DD is definitely not flat to the floor and she got in so it’s not a deal breaker. 🤞🤞🤞
  7. Well done to your little one @SJBallet We will see you in September 😘
  8. Hiii all, I’m a lurker and want to say thanks everyone for getting me through this nail biting time!! I’ve learnt a lot from your messages. Just had our email from Leeds. She’s a YES for year 4 Leeds and one of the youngest who applied (back end of the last group they saw) so for any still waiting on little ones, they do get in!! Good luck everyone💕💕💕

  10. Oh thanks both, you’ve put my mind at rest. Pixiewoo it sounds like we had exactly the same situation! I’m glad to hear you didn’t have any exam issues. I think I’ll just leave it for now and if they are doing them before her birthday she can always not do the exam. thanks again both.
  11. Hi, I’m a first time poster so hope I get this right! My 6 year old has done primary exams at her old ISTD school so was in a grade 1 class (mainly with older girls) then recently moved to a new school that does IDTA. I said she’d already done her Primary so she’s been put in a grade 1 class which she’s very competent and happy in, but when I was looking into ITDA the ages seem to be different. Eek, I think I might have put her into a class she’s too young for? She doesn’t turn 7 until July and I’ve noticed all of the kids are already 7, if not 8. I’m not sure if the teacher has realised her age and I kind of don’t want to mention it as she loves the older girls and being with them, but if they do exams next spring/summer she might not be old enough. Is the cut off 7 years old? If so do I mention it hoping they won’t be doing exams next year? This class only did their exams May this year so how long does it take between primary and grade 1 in ITDA? Any advice welcome. Claire x
