  1. They do still do a bursary. My dc was lucky enough to get the mds but when I spoke to them about finances and explained I couldn’t pay full fees they said then that if it wasn’t mds they have some bursary’s available. They aren’t as much as mds but they look at your finances and give you as much as they can, also dependant on how high the child scored in the audition. Good luck everyone still waiting
  2. We have had confirmation of MDS funding through this week. With forms to follow. And this time it was definitely MDS plus uniform and travel. So I think it is more a trickle than all at once. So another child might hear this week, then another next maybe. I think it’s as all the dance schools are working out who is going where. Keep strong xxx
  3. Arrggghhh!!! Just got an email but mine says that I haven’t registered and need to do so by 12th April…I have registered! And then says about the zoom meeting and the codes for joining. They are sending me loopy😂🤪
  4. I’m confused and a bit upset for my daughter that she has no idea whether she can go or not. Is this the same every year or has there been a new Robles this year do you think?
  5. Very bizarre. I’m at the same stage as you. Have had an offer, then an email to fill in details (but not mds) then I’ve heard nothing, no email about a zoom call🤦‍♀️
  6. 😬😬😬😬😬 Good luck hun. I was the week before you and it was only last week we started to get any comms so hopefully you’ll hear soon xxx
  7. I’ll admit it’s going to be a kick in the teeth if I’ve paid the registration thinking it’s a funded place and then we can’t afford to send her 😭 I so so so hope to hear something soon, my daughter would love it there, it’s the perfect school for her. Hope all of you are coping with the wait, it’s intense!!!
  8. Do we know about other schools yet? White lodge, elmhurst, tring etc?
  9. What a relief and fantastic news. Well done, hopefully it means lots of changes about to happen. Enjoy celebrating this weekend xx
  10. Do you mean as in school information? Your DD has a place and you’ve had funding forms haven’t you? I’m not sure much else will have gone out yet until they have a clearer idea who is going
  11. I’m sorry you’ve had the same thing. It’s definitely hard to swallow when they made such a big deal of keeping her back and giving her such amazing feedback then offering her a place right there on the spot. She’s spent the last few weeks just constantly talking about it and getting excited. I absolutely could kick myself for not asking right then if it was mds funded, at least then I could have said to her straightaway it won’t be affordable.
  12. I’m absolutely gutted. We got financial forms to fill in but there was no mention of MDS so it looks like it’s a bursary. And we can’t afford it if it’s only that. My DD will be devastated, I can’t even bear to tell her at the moment. I wish they hadn’t told her on the day, I think we both got too excited and being told on the day I just assumed it would be MDS. Really gutted 😞
  13. Oh really!! No I didn’t realise that at all. I thought the mds was totally separate from the Hammond and it was their bursery that depended on talent. So I’ve got that totally wrong then. Thank you xx
  14. I read into MDS and basically it’s assumed every student attending on the dance programme will be applying and looking at the brackets most will be eligible. It’s nothing to do with The Hammond as such, it’s government funded so if you are poor (as per your comment not me being disrespectful lol) you’ll defo qualify. I worked out our income and hoping we come in somewhere with a decent wedge off as I’m super poor😂
  15. Only a couple of weeks ago. I’ve just received the forms today to fill in. Hopefully you’ll hear soon then, how long ago did she audition? Was it your daughter who was early Feb? It feels like things are moving now so we should all start getting the info fingers crossed xx
  16. Ah Taxi, I was hoping someone would do that at least I could be expecting something!
  17. Just checking in to see if anyone has heard anything? My daughter is going to the Easter intensive and they sent an email about that today, I got all excited thinking it was about the school place…it’s torture waiting xxx
  18. Hi @Taximum Yes she was offered a place on the day she auditioned but I don’t know if it makes a difference that she was applying for year 8. But I just want to make sure it is funded and not an offer based on me being able to afford £30k a year….which I definitely can not!! I don’t even get paid that much! I don’t know of the kids auditioning for a year 7 place were told on the spot, don’t think they were but I couldn’t be sure as we were last out so I didn’t see anyone else. Massive good luck to your daughter/son and fingers crossed you hear about a) a place and then b) funding super soon xx
  19. Wow you’ve had a month waiting!!! Poor you. She auditioned 2 weeks ago but I was hoping now they’ve finished the auditions they’d be sending out all the funding information. I have heard they are a brilliant school, the kids have an absolute ball there but the admin side can be a bit slow. Worth the wait as long as the funding is what we are expecting. Hope you hear soon xx
  20. Not me….I’m checking my emails every 10 minutes and it’s killing me. When did your daughter audition?
  21. Hi, we were offered a place on the day we auditioned. I think 4 children were out of all that auditioned. But I’m still in the dark about whether it’s an offer of a place with funding or just ‘hey you can come but you have to give us £30k!!’ I was told she scored highly but I was too nervous to ask about the funding and now I’m kicking myself that I didn’t. Part of me thinks surely they wouldn’t bring us back into the room, a panel of 4 judges, tell my daughters she’s got a place which obvs she’s over the moon about, if they aren’t going to offer her the funding too??? Anyone know? Xxx
  22. My DS is the same age and level. See you there xx
  23. I don’t know a massive amount but they have been so incredibly supportive of my DS and fun and also very organised so you know way in advance any changes. They don’t do last minute rehearsals or anything. They are also very supportive of school and understand sometimes work must come first. My advice is give it a go and see, you aren’t signed up for life, if it’s not working for you then you can think about it then xxx
  24. Oh no, that’s strange. Have you checked your junk? I would email Laura at northern if you haven’t heard anything as I’m sure they’d let everyone know at the same time xxx
