Always good to try again! My DD has been recalled once out of three attempts so far and got through to the LCB2 tour but never the main company. She is there today for a final attempt as a 14 year old.
As for the age conundrum; at least your DD is in a great position for vocational school auditions that use the school year age bands as guidance! My August born DD is always at a disadvantage there!
Good luck in the future!
Huge luck to your DD Flora 11!

They split the first auditions by age and there were four auditions of 11 year olds. My DD was in the fourth one (the oldest group) and said she thought they actually might have taken a bigger percentage through from the earlier groups as only 7 went through from hers. Margarite is spot on - some of the dancers in the 11 years category might still actually be 10, given that the age is taken as of 1st Jan 2018. Definitely agree with everyone who says try again, especially if she enjoyed the experience. There are plenty of success stories of those who didn't get through at the first or second attempt.

Last year from a class of 30, DD was one of 7 recalled. In the recall class there were 30 nine year olds altogether. In the final, the class size was around 30 and a mixture of 9 and 10 year olds.
Thanks for this. Sounds very similar to numbers so far this year.

We were there on Sunday and I must say it was exceptionally well organised, even down to having someone assigned to pin numbers on leotards! They did mention that this year there are 670 children auditioning for the 60 places and that that is a record number of "auditionees". I think the numbers of those recalled from each first audition do vary so it's hard to say what the chances are. If I had to guess I'd think perhaps 30 percent get a recall on the day, but I assume only about half of those are then invited to Finals? Good luck everyone!!

Good luck to the dc of any forum members who have recalls tomorrow 🍀🍀

That (seemingly) never ending cycle of photos and auditions!
A couple of years ago DD2 was on the SWL and we were advised by RBS that if a place became available, all dancers on the SWL were considered (presumably using the photos and notes from the audition). They wouldn't be drawn on how many were on it 😉

What a lovely thing to say @Ms Sunshine, you never know, maybe that is the case. Anyway, at least the wait is over for us and we're onto the next thing 😊

Dd just received her "no". Good luck to all those still in the process 🍀🍀.

Maybe you just know some great dancers/performers Ms Sunshine? They can't have recalled that many surely? Sorry to hear it was a no for your dd. The odds were so ridiculous, my dd is fully expecting that result but still wants the letter 😂

Have heard from a friend of a boy which has had a recall. I didn't realise previously they were doing recalls - thought it was yes, no or reserve list. Maybe the strategy changed when they had so many applications, although presumably they already knew numbers when they were giving out the info at the auditions? Oh well, I guess we'll find out soon enough!

We are still waiting. Those I have heard about received their news by post. I'm assuming we'll get our letter tomorrow.

Is anyone else still waiting for a letter? Our unreliable post 😱!

Sounds like good news for your dc Living2dance?

Beautiful photos and such an array of colours 😊. Actually quite relieved not to spot DD2 on there as I'd probably have been telling her off for not pointing her feet enough or slumpy posture 😂😂
-
Wow that's so many! It's a win-win though as they generate a fair income from the experience and the kids have a great time too, many of whom might not do many auditions otherwise

Good luck! Apparently they are seeing about 200 dancers across the two days.

Hmm, just re-reading initial brief: 142 cms does not equate to 4'6" (closer to 4'8") so I wonder which they need/meant!
Either way, looking forward to today's audition - all good experience 😊

I think others could advise on Associate Programmes but there is also this at Central School of Ballet which may be of interest :
Boys Only Ballet
The Central School of Ballet Junior School now hold Boys Only Ballet classes on a Friday evening for boys from 8-16 years, classes are available for those experienced or new to ballet.

I'm sure they would have been. Hope they give you an update when you email @Splitz😊

Did anyone here apply for this? We sent in an application for DD2 back in August and were advised we'd receive audition timings for 1st October last week but still haven't heard anything, so wondering whether anyone has?

I reckon we are cursed to always get delayed results. Both DDs got recalls on the day but only one has her Finals result. Anyone else still waiting? I know yeses from DD2's group have already heard so it's quite hard on her!
