  1. Thank you everyone for your messages. It really has been valuable experience in many ways so more hopeful for the future auditions. x
  2. Well got the no letter from Elmhurst today. That was really quick considering her audition was Tuesday, so to those who don't have one yet you could have the yes. Well a lot was learnt from this first audition, things we wished we had thought of but at least it's only the first, it's experience and time for my dd to get herself together for the others. Good luck to those still auditioning xx
  3. Thank you amber21 and Moneypenny for your quick replies. At least I can sleep tonight instead of thinking it through continuously Bet she takes hours tomorrow deciding what to wear over the top lol. X
  4. Hi my DD has her audition for Elmhurst upper on Tuesday. The letter stated she should have clothing for Classical ballet which is all sorted. Does she go underdressed? With something appropriate over the top or do they get changed there. It isn't quite clear and this is her first audition. I'm quite excited for her however she's nervous x
  5. Hi, received my info today for audition 11th November 9:30 and finished by 12pm. Just out of interest it states a leotard, is there any preference to colour and style or can they wear any colour deemed suitable? Thanks.
  6. Does anyone have a schedule through for Elmhurst upper auditions yet on 11th November? My original email said we would have info by half term at latest but we haven't received it? Just trying to sort out if we need to book for hotel overnight. Thank you x
  7. Bailarin, yes it did direct me for payment. With having paypal I found this option easier. I also have the record on my paypal account. Sounds like a glitch in the system. Are you having to do it again? X
  8. Yes taxiballet we did ours over a week ago. I didn't have any problems luckily, not like some others have mentioned. Apart from my photos collectively were 9mb and the maximum being 10mb. However, it told me the file size was too big. I went onto paint which brought the total file size down to only 6mb which it accepted. I found an old online printout version of the application form and wrote my answers in word. When i filled in the form I found it easier to just copy and paste most of the answers in. Also, I thought if anything goes wrong and it doesn't submit I still have my answers there to do again...just a suggestion. I received an email same day saying they had received it and my information would follow 2 weeks before our allotted audition. Hope that helps.
  9. Thank you for your replies regarding A Levels. My DD has now decided she will do Art, Photography and Textiles A Level IF by some miracle shes lucky enough to gain a place. Shes actually really enthusiastic about it now which is good. Another question...I have sent her audition acceptance form back via recorded mail 9 days ago and its still not showing as been accepted. Am I OK to email them and ask if they have it? I wouldn't normally worry but the acceptance form said if its not received by a specified date which has now passed they would allocate her audition spot to someone else. So I'm sat anxious wondering if they have it. Thank you x
  10. A question about A Levels for the dancers course. At the Tring open day I spoke to quite a few of the students who were absolutely lovely. One question i asked them was about A Levels and although it states on the website they are by choice and that other dance classes can be taken instead what is the view on this and do all student do A Levels? The feedback I got was that my DD should take A Levels and that it will be expected to take 3 and was told she must think about which ones she will take if she gets in. It felt to me like she would need to take them if she was to be considered for a place if she were ever to be luckily enough to gain a place. My DD is predicted 10 GCSE A-A* although very intelligent is digging her heels in at doing A Levels and said if she does would only want to do 2. She has passed 3 dance/drama exams at equivalent A level. This subject hasn't just been brushed over lightly with my DD we've had many in depth conversations about it. But at the end of the day they know what they want, where theyre heading and my DD has thought in depth about choices and backups. Any one have any knowledge here?
  11. That's brill Anyone going to the Tring Open day tomorrow? My daughters stressing over what to wear. I'm right she just wears what she feels comfortable in but smart? Thanks xx
  12. Thank you Janet McNulty, I've been trying to tread through postings on here to collect as much info and help as possible x
  13. Hi everyone, Miracle my DD audition at Tring is on the 19th January and Elmhurst on the 11th November. x
  14. We have our audition date for Tring 6th form Dance. I sent in our dd application beginning of September as I was unsure when to send it in. I cant believe how fast the process has been.
