We had a 10 sec view of the video again yesterday from "external" 🤔

Could be RBS ........or could be the dance school teacher accidentally clicked on it!! 🤪 Aargh!

Good luck everyone! Really hope it's soon 🙏

We had a very brief view shortly before receiving our yes last year...

Last year the JA results came out in June half term, so not long now fingers crossed!

That was just year 6 results - the other years came by centre over a couple of months in the autumn.

Obviously won't be as drawn this year but I'd perhaps dial back any expectations of hearing at half term. Hope I'm wrong though! Fingers crossed for you all!

I think the JEP students would form a class of  new Year 5 on their own. It would be odd for them to be selected for that programme, train for a year and then say no to them.

I don't think it is quite as straight forward as that. You are right that JEP children have already been noted by RBS but they haven't had a years' worth of training (a lesson every other week at most since January, just like those selected for JAs) and in reality RBS will take those deemed most appropriate for the programme at this point in time.

Do we know how many places are available for y5 Birmingham?

If you mean year 5 from September then I'd guess quite a few! My DD is a current Y5 at Birmingham and there are only 2 year 4 children that I know of leaving a number of spaces for others to join 😊

And it’s def at Elmhurst on Bristol road isn’t it 😁

If you approach via the city centre, there is a right hand lane just after the school that allows you to do a u turn - quite easy to miss!

Huge good luck to anyone auditioning this weekend!

You might find that Masters of Ballet actually allocate your daughter to the “junior” group, which is all day, rather than the “foundation” group, if she’s 10. My DD did it a few years ago (it was video auditions then) and we were surprised when she was put in the juniors - I think she was 9 at the time. You could email them to ask?

Thank you - I'll definitely ask the question 😊

Masters of Ballet Academy has the last week in July and the first week of August - from age 8. Fabulous teachers, might be what you are looking for.

Thanks - I did have a look at this one and it looked great but only offers 2 hours a day for age 10, and as we would be staying in London for the week, would like a longer day. Have banked for the future though!

Ballet Boost are always fab, a lot of fun and hard work too. We would always thoroughly recommend them.

    Ace thank you 😊

  8. Having missed the boat for summer intensive applications I'm bit stuck as what to do with the hundreds of weeks off (it seems!)  DD has off. Booked her in for a week at Malvern but trying to find something in July. Does anyone have experience of YDA or Ballet Boost holiday courses? Likely that it'll be a choice between one of them... She's 10 if it has any bearing.

If it’s a no this time, when can they expect to audition again, do they have to wait a year or are they permitted to try again in the next auditions?

I've heard this second hand from a friend with a child at the full time school but, according to her, Tring quite like it when a child comes back for another try as it shows how much they want it!

Pretty sure there are many stories on here of people getting in after a second (or third!) audition as well.

Thankyou, bit if obsessive YouTube looking going on here 🤣 Was that a video audition in September?

    Understandable 🤣

No they managed to squeeze in a face to face audition but most of the year has been via Zoom (still been a great programme!).

  11. Tring were pretty quick with CBA results in September so hopefully you'll all hear soon 🤞

And try not to read anything into views or lack of, DD successfully auditioned for one of the big associates last year having only had a couple of minutes or so watched of her video. You really can never tell!

Wow this is a long audition process for the Juniors! But it sounds like if we are going to hear in April they must have started looking at the applications. Has anyone had a view yet? We haven’t.

At least it won't be the nearly year long process as it was last year 😀

  13. Well done to everyone - yeses, waitlist or not yet... you've all done brilliantly to get this far!

I'm not sure whether I am a yes or a no...basically I messed up and forgot to send the finance information off so they have use down as not needing mds. I've been offered a fee paying place for dd which we can't afford. Feel like the worst mum in history and hoping it can be sorted as she can't go without funding....congratulations all xxxx

Everything crossed you get it sorted 🤞 Elmhurst obviously want her so sure something will be worked out!

An overwhelming majority were from schools or associate centres from the south.

    I also noticed this!

We'll be trying out for vocational school next year and have a lot of the same thoughts. DD does attend multiple associates but this is only as a result of not expecting to get into any and hedging our bets 😀 They have very much opened our eyes. We know of people who travel to a different city to have take class at a top school in addition to privates with a big name teacher - my DD will never be able to compete with that. I am relatively sanguine about it all though, DD is either good enough or not!

I reckon I could have a reasonable punt about who will get in next year now 😂

My DD has applied for MA but didn't apply for WL, I'm gutted we didn't think this through properly.  I do wonder if she will be at a disadvantage.  She wasn't a JA but was on the wait list for Year 6 so I'm hoping she will be on their radar.  This waiting and second guessing is so hard!

A friend of DDs was waitlisted for MA last year having not applied for WL so all are definitely considered! She hadn't been a JA previously (or even tried for the programme).
