  1. My DD is in 2nd year. Last year's classical focus of 9 graduates 2 are in Ballet Theatre UK company. 3 were offered places as apprentices for a Swiss ballet company. Other successes but I can't remember exactly. The schools face book account is where graduate employment is often stated. Out of the year group of 25 apx ( classical focus and jazz theatre focus) only a couple of students didn't have a job ready before they left! Some of my daughters friends in current Yr3 already now have at least 2 contracts to choose from.

  2. If you get a Dada for fees there is a maintenance grant too. It is decided from your joint income. It's got a sliding scale. If outside London and under 21 thousand it's worth £5,500, 21 to 23 it's worth £3,700 etc.x

  4. My DD is in 2nd year classical focus at Northern Ballet School. She dances from 8.30am ( including warm up) to 5/6pm Monday to Friday. It is all Ballet except 1 class of Contemporary,1 of jazz and 1 of singing( so only 3 hours none ballet a week)The students often stay after 6 doing student led practice. Not sure about jazz focus students.

  5. My DD started Ballet at 8 in Primary class (with 5&6 year old) primary and gd1 then gd2 each with about 7 months in each grade (2 classes a week) Then started taking grades yearly, caught up her age group. She got a funded place at vocational school at 13( only 3 classes a week from 10 to 13 no Associate classes either) She is now in her 2 year with a Dada at ballet vocational upper school. It shows even starting later on 2/3 classes a week and no Associates it can happen.x

  6. Interesting article Stirrup. Does that mean regarding Dada that it covers up to 2018 to those in the system eg current 2nd years who are due to finish July 2018? Or other new students starting Sep 2017 and Sep 2018 for the full 3 years of their course.x

  7. In the 2011/12 ofsted they had a total of 39 DADA's across 3 years, so 13 apx in each year. Interesting ofsted Nov 2015 they had a total of 26 across 3 years, so 8/9 in each year. A third less in total in only 3/4 years. Very concerning that there is not more information on whether the new scholarships are means tested or same amount of places. Is there still maintainance help available too against living costs which runs alongside current Dada fees help?
