Well done to everyone! My dd loved it, was in 11am group (year 9&10), there was one lovely girl auditioning from year 9 group who was chatting with everyone and made it so stress free, my dd loved her! And not to forget that food from canteen smelled great! X
Any idea how many girls were in the yr9/10 audition? X

My DD attended NBS with a Dada for tuition. You can also receive help dependant on income ( sliding scale) for accommodation. It worked out approximately 50% reduction on her accommodation fee's at unite ( New Medlock / Parkgate) x

Hey, I auditioned and gained a place at NBS (which I have since turned down). I was awarded a Dada but it's important to understand that they are hard to get and only a few people get awarded them (they are a scholarship from the government). The amount of money you receive is dependant on your household income.
There is no other funding for tuition fees or maintenance at NBS because the qualification you get is a diploma, NOT a degree.
Housing costs typically around £8,000 a year if you live in the Unite Students accommodation (which first year students do).
If you have any other queries please ask away, I've become fairly expert in the last year! 😂

In the world of today this behaviour should not be happening anywhere. The long term damage of physical and verbal abuse is proven to ruin a young persons future years.

Congratulations to your DD.
Does your DD have an idea which part of the dance industry she most wants to go into? Have you had chance to see where the graduates from both schools end up working and how soon after graduation they gain employment? X

Are both courses the same level eg level 6? Are both courses with a Dada? X

Not sure if we can respond to this as site is not allowed to discuss anything Ballet West wise. Hopefully moderators can explain this more technically. there is a post regarding Ballet West that is locked at the top of the wall.x

When my DD started she was 16 and a girl in her year was 21/22. A lad was 23/24. X

Hello, was just thinking about your post. Is that offer made available to parents who are in that position do you know? I assume each school handles this process slightly differently. Does anyone have experience of this from previous years? Thank you x
My DD attended there and her friend's parents had the bursary instead of the MDS as it worked out better for them.x

Some parents opt for the 50% bursary as it works out better than the MDS if parents have high income's. X

Northern Ballet School very good summer school. Accommodation available too. Reasonable price too.x
-
Some students from YDA also do Central Associates too.x

I think it would be hard to stream them for non RAD ballet class as in my daughters year there were only 14 girls ( boys taught separately). In year 10 and 11 my DD was asked like a couple of others to come in earlier for extra ballet class ( not extra exam class)during the week. X

The Pastoral care and nurturing of a student physically and mentally for the world of dance is exceptional at the Hammond. My DD would not be working in the dance industry today without them.x

Results of finalists on Facebook 21 selected.x

Northern Ballet School is a fantastic vocational school my DD has a contract on finishing graduate year so do at least 10 of her year. It is great when they go straight into work. The Principal certainly gets them industry ready.x
-
My DD is 19 and has had a policy with Bupa since 13 ( private one) it covers her anywhere in the country and has London included. Covers everything including unlimited physio appointments. Cost rises with age even though she has never claimed at first it was £400ish now £600ish.x

I have received a email from the government this morning regarding the petition. So pleased they have discussed it.x
