MDS forms have arrived and been filled out ! Phew - another step closer ... Anyone know what is the cut off point for being eligible for uniform and travel ? - the information is rather vague .......

So at last we have found one new friend for DS to be in touch with but there must be some more boys starting yr7 in September ! Perhaps there are fewer boys going this year than usual - though there were plenty at the final auditions! Maybe some of you are yet to audition.......? Please say hello if you are out there ! - or if you know of someone .........

Enjoy the whole covent Garden experience ! And be sure to look up at the bridge of aspiration in Floral street !

Just back from another session - none of our ballet or national groups went through , but my DS and partner are taking their duet through despite a slip ! Very happy and tired boy going back home tonight ! Well done to all so far ! Back for the last day on Saturday afternoon after a rushed trip up to London for JAs !

If its any consolation it the same at Elmhurst! - they will be ready for bed by 9 if the daily program is anything to go by !

Thanks to all for the congratulations and good wishes........DS and teachers as over the moon! Yes it did seem very harsh yesterday we were feeling quit discouraged and those going through are few and far between ! Ironically my DS has just won his song and dance solo and group which are both going to the finals now! I say ironically because his only other solo was ballet and was not placed , yet he is about to go into full time ballet training ! Well we may as well do the last festival season with a flourish! All of the best to everyone for the rest of the week - we still have a couple more to go !

Wow DS came 1st with his modern - through to the london finals there goes the summer holiday!

None of our dance school have made it through to the finals so far ! Hope tommorow goes better....

I think its particularly good for boys who are often the only ones in their class or even school ! It provides them a chance to learn and dance with other boys at their level . Added to that the chance to meet different teachers and take part in performances in the ROH and get a sense of the history of ballet and see the workings of a vocational school . My son found it very inspiring. At 10 he is now confident on trains and busses around London and feels connected with other young male dancers! The body conditioning is different to what is taught in the grade systems so I feel if complements his regular ballet classes .The improvement in his progress in his regular classes and in his physique is very noticeable . He is now going to start vocational school in September, which we would not have considered before the Associate experience. For us it was expensive but well worth it!

Goodness me ! What a sad , shortsighted , ungenerous and retrograde decision ! While the world becomes more and more a global village, a time honoured institution will be shrouded from public view ! Most discouraging !

Aw we will be there Monday, Tuesday Wednesday & Saturday - it's our first and last !

I see that the whole lower school is going for a weekend away on a team building exercise ! How exciting - does that happen every year ?

Here is another question / request - does anyone haven't know of an older child , perhaps a boy that travels by train to and from Elmhurst , via London . If so please PM me or get in touch . I have still not found any other new boys starting year 7 in September - are you out there somewhere ?

Wow wouldn't my DS be in heaven if he could go to see this ! Better wait and see if he goes through to any all England Finals as there is a clash there !

Hmm it's hard to remember exactly - seemed like ages - i think about 2-4 weeks, but they will tell you on the day when you can expect to hear from them !

We are also awaiting the letter rather impatiently ! Actually we have still not had the forms to fill out about the means tested assessment of what we have to pay ! Rather worried about this as we need to start saving !! Anyone know if we have to come up with a down payment on the induction day ?

Indeed! It's far less stressful by train and the Covent Garden station is right on the doorstep of the ballet school !
