  1. We have good news too. What a relief!
  2. Well done CDR! Waiting for the postman here
  3. Apparently results are being finalised and will be out very soon - in the next day or so
  4. Tarantella I have heard half a dozen WL and half a dozen competition places for the girls plus whoever they took from Finals on Sunday but not sure if that is accurate. Either way it is going to be very very stiff competition at ENB in 10 days.
  5. Thank you. It is stiff competition! By the time WL places are allocated and competition winners take up allocated spaces the advertised audition process seems to fill up just a couple of places. Some consolation that DD said she saw one or two international students yesterday who were astonishingly advanced managing about 6 perfect pirouettes en pointe. Also a no to them. It makes getting into Oxbridge look like a walk in the park....!
  6. They were about 30 in finals - only non White Lodge as this year WL were assessed beforehand. Barely any seemed to make it to the afternoon. A few mainly non UK did get through to physio stage.
  7. No for DD from RBS US finals today. ???? Results were given out on a same day basis for the group in 'definite no'
  8. Jarthrell pob is great . You have landed on your feet so don't let your dd regret rbs! If you are doing pob instead imo you are missing nothing.....
  9. I gather some of their 3rd years are doing well in company auditions. At dd's audition we thought there is certainly a very warm and buzzing atmosphere in the school.
  10. Don't know about this specific course but YDA is a really good ballet school getting great results so I think you'd find your child has a good time and makes progress.
  11. Welshballetmum2000- my impression is lots of call backs for U.K students this year.
  12. In fairness to RBS it was made clear at prelims there were very few spaces available - so by implication some are already ear marked informally or given out by other methods of entry into the school.
  13. Biscuit 11 February results are out from ENB- so far as I know both yes and no results so I would get in touch if I were you. Good luck. Anyone know numbers at finals for ENB last year and how many places?
  14. Er well yes if you are fortunate enough to have a choice of school but for many the idea of picking the right environment is a bit academic and having decided to go for vocational school you get what you are given particularly if you choose ballet
  15. Interesting the comments on Elmhurst process. You seem to hear nothing but great things about that school.
  16. Of course things may mean a head (or artistic director in this case) can't attend particular events and someone else of any job title may have to step in - but to schedule the upper school prelim systematically every year on the same date as Prix de Lausanne so that as director you can never be present - ever- surely says to all the parents and dancers you have no interest or concern in attending.
  17. I guess ultimately there is nothing to criticise if RBS is satisfied with and nurtures the dancers it does opt for but the problem is you don't always get that impression
  18. On the bright side it gives some comfort to the many who receive a 'no'. If a child isn't even properly watched at audition then the no is not worth the paper it is written on
