  1. Crystaltips this sounds awful and please rely on your instincts.

Have you considered talking to another dance school? I've heard that KS Dance often take students transferring from elsewhere.

So sorry you are in this situation.

  2. Dancer123 I think if your dd has access to 10 hours of ballet a week - good quality - then she'll do very well. There are all sorts of pitfalls at vocational school and why take the risk if you have that training at home? There is a high turnover rate at vocational school and people leave and join all the time if you change your mind in the future.

  3. Hi Pixy-dust

If you have had ankle dislocations I would think very carefully about whether pointe work is appropriate, ever.

I'm sorry if that sounds mean but you are only 24 and risking further ankle damage could lead to lifelong problems - with daily activities never mind dance.

    Take care.

My daughter is auditioning for the JA's this year.

My sister previously auditioned and was asked to demonstrate her flexibility. Box splits etc.

Has anyone else's child experienced the audition? I was just wondering what sort of things they will be asked to do.

When my dd was a JA the dc who got into WL was definitely not the furthest down in splits. They are looking for many things in combination!
