Seconded, James - they were stunning! Their performance stayed with me for days.

Tatiana gets my vote - I'd love to do the mirror scene - in my dreams!!!

'I'd be gutted if they dropped Onegin and I think you could argue a MacMillan/ Cranko link there to retain it' (Jenny)
I'd be gutted too, and the RB do it so well!
I'd be happy to drop most of McGregor, too.

Someone had suggested that the Royal Ballet had lost the rights to Oneign stating that the licence agreement requires that it be done every three years and - should that specified guideline be accurate - then the rights would have been forfeited. Again, I don't know if this is accurate. It will be interesting to see if it is in the 2019/20 RB season. That said, should it not be, J_New there are a great number of European companies who do have it in their rep and who perform it not infrequently.
Oh no - I hadn't heard that - thanks for the info, Bruce. Oh well - it'll have to be Berlin, Stuttgart, Amsterdam then if this turns out to be the case. But it was always such a pleasure to see it in London - i still remember the electric evening when Reilly guested with Alina - and of course, later on the Naghdi/ Ball stunning Olga/Lensky pairing.

There's no indication of casting yet, is there?

Sorry Sim - we crossed! And sorry that you were replying to Dave, not me .... No, I got my dates wrong - I didn't see her debut - it was her second performance that moved me so much.

I saw her for the first time on Monday 18th. I know that we all respond emotionally to different things, but I just found that Monday performance very emotional. It was her complete trust in him and the sheer beauty of her dancing that got to me. I didn't feel it in the same way last Monday night with Bonelli, lovely though it was!

There was definitely a much deeper, more emotional and heartfelt aspect to Monday night's performance; as I said in my previous posting about that, Yasmine had someone whom she could really feed off in Bonelli. Not only is he a wonderful, experienced partner, but his dancing is still excellent and boy can he emote, and relate so beautifully to his ballerina. If she then gives it back to him, and there is natural chemistry, wow. Just like on Monday night.
I loved both her performances, the second one with Kish and then Monday evening with Bonelli. I don't know whether it was my familiarity with the production or her obvious trust in Kish, but I found that performance absolutely electric - even more so than Monday. I was nearer then (SCS), and saw the performance with Bonelli from above, which may have made a difference - but it is interesting how things affect us all differently.

Me too....it's how it's conveyed that seems to be at issue here!
Yes - I agree - I interpreted the flapping of the arms as just remembering the swans rather than changing into a bird - but I'm not sure that Bennet did it in the same way - I've only seen him once but just seem to remember him rushing off in a 'panic'. I'm seeing it again tomorrow so will try to take note of what happens.

IMO his panic and the way he dashes off make it clear that there's more to it than that.
I kind of assumed that he realised that Siegfried was on his way to shoot 'his' swans and that he needed to be there ...

The act 2 pdd transcended beauty - it was one of those moments when I knew why I come to the ballet
The act 3 gpdd was dazzling, Yasmine's Odile was alluring, and cunningly wicked. She is really stamping her charaterisation on the role, big time
The act 4 pdd moved me to tears, it was glorious, so full of pathos and yearning. (NB - I did manage to restrain myself from running up on the stage to comfort her myself, but it was a struggle!! 😉 )
I can, as we say in Wales, say 'I was there'
I was there too, and totally agree with Dave - it was a very special performance.

Sorry - I certainly didn't mean to worry anyone!

That's really good to know. My friend will be in A39 - and she's around the same height as you, Jenny. Thanks to Don Q Fan, too.
Jenny, it was very nice to meet you the other night at the premiere.

That's great advice, thank you. I just got worried when I saw what the restriction was on the e-ticket! I'll get a cushion for her and tell her that she can lean forward slightly if the person behind is OK with that. (My ticket is on the side in Row G, and is more expensive!)
Many thanks!

Sorry - I may be posting this in the wrong place, but I just want to know what it's like sitting in the front row of the Amphi - I've just snapped a SL ticket up for a friend, (fairly central) but am now not sure whether she'll see over the tier as she's short.
Any advice, please?
Thanks
