Hi Everyone,

I'm writing with the latest news from AEDA.

AEDA launched in September 2013, the school is based in the heart of the UK in Nottingham's Creative Quarter and housed in privately owned, purpose built and beautifully refurbished facilities.

September 2014 saw our first intake of full-time vocational students to our ‘Performing Arts Professional Programme’.

Alongside our talented cohort we have also made new appointments to our teaching faculty, including; Bolshoi Ballet Maestro Gabor Menich, Allison DeBona and Rex Tilton from US based company Ballet West and Jon Orton previous vocal coach at Stage Door Manor (and tutor to Lea Michelle).

The school aims to set a new national standard for the delivery of vocational training, taking into account all elements of health and wellness, whilst in pursuit of professional technical excellence.

Full-time students choose to embark on bespoke training in either Classical Dance or Musical Theatre and are supported by an incredible teaching faculty. A Level subjects and other options for 'Post 16' education can be combined with either course. Student numbers are limited and each student is offered an individually designed schedule.

The school also operates; Easter and Summer Intensives, Private Tuition Programmes and a 'Pre-Professional Programme' - entry by audition only.

Scholarships and bursaries are available and auditions for entry in September 2015 are now open.

If anyone has any questions about AEDA or would like to arrange a visit to meet with us, please let me know.

Kind regards,
Carmen

Hi swanprincess!

Thanks for your message.

We do have options for boarding/accommodation, off-site.

This is either with a host family or in boarding facilities.

Lovely to hear from you.

Hi Everyone,

Applications for the 'Ernest B Shaw Scholarships' are now open!

The scholarships are awarded annually to one male and one female candidate for acceptance onto full-time vocational training at AEDA The Arts Academy. They are granted in recognition of outstanding potential in either musical theatre or classical dance.

Applicants must be from a mining background or community to qualify for consideration and are subject to the AEDA audition process.

Ernest was a miner for forty years and a devoted grandfather to AEDA's Executive Director - Carmen Shaw.

These scholarships are awarded in his memory and continue his legacy of generosity and kindness in supporting the ambitions of young people.

For further information and details of entry criteria please email: join@aedaacademy.co.uk

Kind regards,

Carmen

Hello Carmen, thank you for the update. In accordance with the "commerce" section of our forum's Acceptable Use Policy, instead of starting a new thread every time you have an update about AEDA, please would you add to one of your pre-existing threads?

If you are unsure how to find your previous posts, please just ask. In the meantime I merged this new thread into your previous thread.

Kind regards,

Hi,

Thanks for this.

I'll be sure to 'merge' future posts :)

Thank you. :-) No need to worry too much about the technical side; if you can just keep posting updates in this thread that will be fine.

Does anyone know whether AEDA is still running? I can't see that any news has been posted on their website since 2014 and I had no response when I emailed them recently.
