New Season at Mariinsky, Wheeldon's Alice premiered

The Mariinsky Theatre has posted details about their new 232nd season.

ballet premiere promises viewers a variety of dance genres, from classical to modern productions: preparing for the production of "Alice in Wonderland" by British choreographer Christopher Wheeldon and "Stone Flower" by Yuri Grigorovich. Once again return to the ballet poster for "The Bronze Horseman" Gliere and "Scotch Symphony" to the music of Felix Mendelssohn choreographed J.. Balanchine. 

new season rife with significant debuts Olga Esina, who returned to the main part of the ballet company of the Vienna State Opera, will dance for the first time Mariinsky Theatre title role in "La Bayadere" by Minkus and "Raymonda" Glazunov, Christina Shapran - new soloist of the Mariinsky ballet troupe, will be released in the lead roles in productions of "Giselle" by Adolphe Adam, "Park" to music by Vladimir A. Mozart's "Romeo and Juliet" by Prokofiev, "La Bayadere" by Minkus, Oksana Skoryk perform the part of Aurora in "Sleeping Beauty" PI Tchaikovsky and the title role in RK Shchedrin's "Anna Karenina". Vladimir Shklyarov debut in the party of Ali Batyra in "Shurale" F. Yarullina Timur Askerov and Andrey Ermakov - in the title role in Prokofiev's ballet "Romeo and Juliet", Xander Parish will perform the role of Prince Desire in ballet PI Tchaikovsky's "The Sleeping Beauty", Kimin Kim - Party Prince in Prokofiev's ballet "Cinderella."

 

Film of the Mariinsky Theatre 

during the 2014/15 season will be a series screenings recorded in 2013/2014 season performances of the ballet by Minkus in classical choreography by Marius Petipa "La Bayadere" and Sergei Prokofiev's opera "War and Peace" directed by Graham Vick. The festival "Stars of the White Nights" will be broadcast live performances of the music of PI Tchaikovsky: the premiere production of the opera "Queen of Spades" and the ballet "Sleeping Beauty."

 

I wonder how they will perform Wheeldon's Alice.
