The Mariinsky Theatre has posted details about their new 232nd season.

Yarullina Timur Askerov and Andrey Ermakov - in the title role in Prokofiev's ballet "Romeo and Juliet", Xander Parish will perform the role of Prince Desire in ballet PI Tchaikovsky's "The Sleeping Beauty", Kimin Kim - Party Prince in Prokofiev's ballet "Cinderella."

 

Film of the Mariinsky Theatre 

during the 2014/15 season will be a series screenings recorded in 2013/2014 season performances of the ballet by Minkus in classical choreography by Marius Petipa "La Bayadere" and Sergei Prokofiev's opera "War and Peace" directed by Graham Vick. The festival "Stars of the White Nights" will be broadcast live performances of the music of PI Tchaikovsky: the premiere production of the opera "Queen of Spades" and the ballet "Sleeping Beauty."

 

I wonder how they will perform Wheeldon's Alice.

My reactions exactly: who is Vladimir A. Mozart and how are the Mariinsky going to do in Alice?

There was  a time not so long ago when Google Translate used to translate "Ballett" from German as "clench". "He attended the Royal Clench School and then joined the National Clench of Canada".

I kid you not.

But it does a better job on Russian to English than I can!
