capybara
Last night's Insight gave us Christopher Wheeldon and Jacquelin Barrett talking about the concept and creation of the ballet and Joby Talbot (Composer) with David Briskin (Conductor) discussing the music. Wheeldon also rehearsed Lauren Cuthbertson and Edward Watson in a piece from Act 1, Beatriz Stix-Brunell and Vadim Muntagirov (revealed as second cast Perdita and Florizel) in a pas de deux from Act 1, and Zenaida Yanowsky and Edward Watson in an excerpt from Act 3. Lovely to catch Vadim, on what must have been his first public outing with the RB, being introduced by Wheeldon as "our wonderful new Russian dancer".
Jan McNulty
Thanks for the report Capybara. I've modified the title to make clear it is the Royal Ballet's Winter's Tale and moved the topic to "Performances Seen..." so that it can also be used for thoughts on the performances.
