Yaffa
Megabus have a large number of free tickets on offer for journeys throughout the UK (Mon to Thurs, 6th Jan. to 20th Feb). Some of the journeys tie in well with ballet dates. You just pay a 50p. booking fee which can cover several tickets. Further details at http://uk.megabus.com/free-bus-travel.aspx NB This is just one of many good travel deals available at the moment. When searching for deals, a good place to start is: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/deals/cheap-coach-train-ticket-deals (getting there) and http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/deals/hotel-sales (places to stay) Yaffa (no connection to any of the above - just passing on the info) [edited to correct typo in URL] Edited December 11, 2013 by Yaffa

Yaffa
Megabus (discounted coach and bus travel site, now covering travel to and within several European countries) now has another free bus ticket deal on for 12th Jan to 12th Feb. Again there's just a 50p. booking fee per order (not per ticket). Even when the thought of a five hour bus ride doesn't sound ideal, Megabus can be a useful backup arrangement until something better comes along, and it lets you can change the tickets for just £1 per order (not per ticket) plus any difference in price, up to 24 hours before a journey - which can be useful for all the uncertainties in the ballet world (injuries, uncertain audition outcomes etc.) The current deal is only on their bus fares but they also have great deals on train fares (but on a very small selection of dates and routes and generally bookable only 60 days in advance). These are regular, heavily discounted tickets of Virgin and other providers. They will apparently be adding the free tickets in batches in the coming days, so it might be worth trying again if you don't find what you need. And of course check out alternative travel deals. http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/deals/cheap-coach-train-ticket-deals can be a good place to start though not everything is covered there. Yaffa
Oops sorry, I posted my last message in reply to an old thread with a subject line of 'intercity' journeys. Actually this deal is also valid on European routes. You can also use Tesco clubcards to pay for Megabus travel (£5 vouchers gets you 4X £2.50 codes, i.e. £10 of Megabus travel).
