SFE funding for 16 year old

I can't seem to get a definitive answer regarding student maintenance and fees from SFE for 16 year olds. Have others DC who are 16, easily applied and been accepted for both these loans? This would be for a foundation degree. Many thanks 🤯

DS was 16 and when he started at Central (he's a 3rd year now) and got he's fees and maintenance loan paid with no problem. This was also for the foundation degree.

DD is 16 and 1st Year at Central and has full SFE funding for the course and maintenance which covered most, but not all, of the accommodation cost.  SFE cover the cost of the course and I think everyone is eligible for the full cost, the maintenance finance is means tested.  It was easy enough to apply for and came through in plenty of time to cover the start of the foundation degree start.

The course must be registered with SFE to be eligible and if it is then yes they will fund foundation degrees for 16 year olds. We had an offer for a school that was eligible for Scottish funding but not SFE or SFW.
