alison
I don't want to get into the political side of the local elections, but one of the parties - which shall remain nameless - has just put a flyer through the door to remind us that it's voting day, and suggesting that we tick all the boxes for that party on our form. I know there are various things you aren't allowed to do on the day of an election in case it exerts undue influence, such as canvassing, and wondered if this counted among them? Does anyone know? bangorballetboy
This is fine. Candidates and their teams are not allowed to campaign inside a polling station but, as a general rule, they are free to campaign generally (provided they don't restrict easy access to a polling station in doing so).
alison
Okay, thanks. It must just be an unwritten agreement that the parties and media don't do anything on polling day, then. I might as well close this one down ...
