Jan McNulty
I was sad to see the news that the venerable actor Robert Hardy has passed away at the age of 91. He was a wonderful screen actor. I regret I never saw him on stage. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-40818839 https://www.theguardian.com/film/2017/aug/03/robert-hardy-harry-potter-actor-dies http://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/robert-hardy-dead-harry-potter-star-dies-aged-85-a3603536.html
Fiz
I find it rather insulting to him that all the papers could call him was a "Harry Potter actor". He was hardly off screen in various historical dramas through the 1970s and 80s. He was also a toxophilite and consulted with the Mary Rose Trust about the bows, arrows and other weapons found on board the ship.
Quintus
My son is good friends with his grandson; they were at prep school together during the Harry Potter years - major credibility points for him at the time! His Churchill was memorable, but I imagine for many on this forum the first association may be All Creatures Great and Small, where he was wonderfully testy.
